Thoughts on Tod's Crocodile Real or Faux

I've seen some Tod's crocodile totes that seem to be real crocodile and some that seem to be fake. I cannot figure out what is what.

My questions to you are:

1) Is there a way to determine (by style or other) if it is real or faux if the seller does not know or specify?

2) What are you thoughts on Tod's real croc or faux croc bags?
