Thoughts on Tiffany website update?

Has anyone checked out the updated Tiffany website? I was surprised to see that now, customers can buy engagement rings directly online from the site. Or so it seems--I'm still browsing it myself. It is a limited selection, but there are sliders to choose different specs of the rings, and the website then pulls up actual inventory that you can either purchase online or call to purchase.

I am curious, what do you all think about this? On one hand, it makes sense for Tiffany's bottom line for it to make its engagement rings accessible via their website in order to keep up with other engagement ring companies. But on the other hand, one thing I like about Tiffany was the whole experience of picking out a ring from the store and enjoying the customer service. Also, as a luxury brand, I would hope that Tiffany would not feel the need to keep up with online retailers.

I just checked it out. I like it. I like how you can compare similar diamonds and see the price differences. That would be hard to do in store if they don't have it in stock. I would still prefer to buy the ring in store, but I also realize that not everyone lives near a Tiffany store, too.

i love this option. i don’t have time to drive in, sit down just to find out the price. it is an additional option but doesn’t mean the only option to buy diamond ring from Tiffany

Tiffany’s needs to do something drastic quick to keep themselves relevant. I think this is a great idea.

I like it. I will always shop in person but this gives people who live far away from any Tiffany boutique to research the pieces online.

I agree that it is a great idea. It keeps them competitive with many of the other retailers that have e commerce. Not everyone lives near or wants to have the hassle to go into a store. I think it is a smart move.

Was there also a price increase with the Tiffany T collection? The T wire ring with diamonds was 1650 on the search page then I clicked on it and it was 1700. Same thing with the gold micro smile bracelet it was 525, now it’s 550.

I noticed that too. There was a price increase all around. Seems like the Tiffany website needs to update the the search page prices to reflect the current increased prices.

Yes, the price hike took place on March 19
