Thoughts on this design for a bookmark

I sketched out this design but I'm trying to decide if I should get squared or rounded edges for the corners. Moreover, do you think the gold corners add appeal or might it be more interesting to use onyx instead?

I love lapis but onyx would contrast nicely and yes I like the gold!

Just ordered it today with the gold.
The price doesn't seem too bad (got a quote for 300ish).
