I think they are kind of charming! I need one more charm and was going to get a third olympian charm- beauty to compliment my friendship and courage charm and came across these today

every sales associate except my favorite does not like them! I think they're kind of cute! how about you?

I am interested in the half circle sterling $150 lock shown in the press release. http://press.tiffany.com/News/NewsItem.aspx?ID=108
Otherwise I'm not really impressed by these. I have locks and I have keys and I don't plan on buying anymore unless the half circle looks irresistible in person. The gold locks seem particularly expensive for such little metal used, and even the silver locks look tiny for T&CO metal pendants.

SKphotoimages I agree with you. Locks do have romantic symbolism. In South Korea couples engrave their names on padlocks, lock them on a fence, and throw away the combination. It symbolizes their eternity together.

I saw these online and the first one you posted was my favorite, but my local store does not carry it. They did have the two tone version of the third one you posted and it was SO small that all detail was lost. Now I did find one I LOVE and have suggested it to my husband should he ever want to get me something:

it is SOOO much smaller in real life than you would expect. Way smaller than a dime. Even so, on a longer 20" chain I think it's just so dainty and sweet.

There is another thread on another forum about these, and those ladies DEFINITELY do NOT like these locks. Someone said the key could signify "opening new doors" but what does a lock say...that your oppressed or constrained?

Here's how I view the one I love: My husband is my protector, he is my security and where I feel safe. He protects and guards my heart and the lock just signifies that.

Aww..I love that! My daughter asked why I didn't want a key to go with the lock and I knew I didn't but couldn't put it into words. What you said pretty much says it all for me.

I don't care for the new vintage style locks. The little piece around the keyhold just bugs me.
This is saying a lot (IMO) because I LOVE locks!

I think they're cute, but not really great. I think doing vintage locks is an awesome idea, especially since they're already doing the keys collection, but there are much better locks they could have chosen to reproduce. Like someone else said, I ADORE locks and keys. :smile1:

I'm not impressed with them. They just seem rather boring IMO. I wouldn't mind getting a small, cute lock to go with a key that I have, but I think I'd rather get one with a little more...detail.

I have to admit I'm not a fan of the locks. But then I wasn't too sure on the keys either but for Xmas I got the mini heart key with pink sapphire on a small bead necklace and I love it.

Seriously now I want to do that!

Re: Tiffany's... my thought was meh... not so much. I like this one a lot (the heft and thickness of it):

but I'm more into clean lines than vintage Victorian-y looking jewelry. If you love them get them though!!

I agree with skphotoimages. They are sooooo tiny that they almost look nothing like the photos online. Still and all, they can be cute in the right setting. But they mean it when they call them charms and not pendants!

I didn't know about these lock pendants until reading this thread. I think they are cute! I would have to see them in real life, but I actually like the fact that they are small. I tend to gravitate more towards petite and delicate necklaces. I might have to check them out at Tiffany!
