I was looking at this bag in cinnabar when dh came up behind and said if I wanted it for christmas I could have. I said yes, but now it is wrapped and I do not know much about it. What are your thoughts on this bag? How does the hardware on them hold up? I saw somewhere a person had a strap detach on a new bag because the hardware was plastic not metal on their saffiano tote. I love the color of this bag so I am hoping this will be a winner.

I have a Gilmore east west satchel in vanilla. I don't use it all of the time, but it seems well made and I love it! I've had it for about a 10 months, I think? I don't see why there would be any strap issues and there is definitely not any plastic hardware on mine. It seems extremely sturdy. Mine is not the newest season though... ut they look the same to me.
Thank you! It was not a gilmore satchel that I had seen that had the problem. The leather looked really nice on the bag we bought. Dh and my son were in a hurry so I had to make a split second decision. Do you not wear yours much because of the light color?
That's exactly why. It gets denim transfer stains in the vanillla leather. I've always been able to remove them, but don't carry it with jeans now ust in case!

I'm sorry you have the color transfer issue. I have had that with other light color bags too. I am glad you really like it though. The cinnebar is fairly dark so I hope I won't have that issue as I wear jeans 90% of the time.
I have Gilmore medium satchel in luggage and I love it! Cell phone pocket on back is great. Bag is fantastic worn crossbody. Very functional and easy to use. I get a lot of compliments on it too, even though it is one of his simpler designs. Also the generous straps when worn handheld make it very easy to take on and off your wrist. Leather is very durable, almost glazed so it has a sheen. No color transfer on mine.
Thank you so much. The more I look at photo's of it on line the more excited I get. The cell pocket is a big plus for me. Part of me wishes I had paid for it with my bag stash money so I could have had it now.
