Thoughts on New Leather Lining for Chanel Flap Bags?

Hey TPFers. My friend just took a trip to Spain and picked up a lambskin Jumbo flap for me from the Madrid boutique.

I compared the inside leather and noticed that the maroon leather lining wasn't the same smooth leather used on my m/l.

Does anyone know when they started using this type of leather? Wish I was able to get my hands on an older Jumbo

I have heard the change is a good one, the leather they are using now is more resistant to scratches. This looks like the leather on the inside of my Jumbo double flap and I have had great results, the inside still looks perfect after a couple years.
