Ladies,

I'm purchasing the Camden large leather satchel soon but I am SOOOO torn between the luggage and suntan color. How does suntan hold up? Does it show dirt easily? I love the color but am concerned about maintenance. TIA!

Hi! I've been wondering the same thing. I've been meaning to pick up a Selma medium messenger for running errands but I'm also stuck between Luggage and Sun Tan. ST is the perfect light/neutral color but like I had said for errands the bag is going to get tossed around some. I know the color in saffiano will be easier to care for but I just would like to know for sure before making the purchase.

Suntan is light brown and luggage is medium brown. I just posted a comparison in the Sophisticated Selma Club thread here...

The handles and laces of my Miranda tote are suntan, and I haven't had any problems yet with dirt showing up. And my Miranda is soft leather, not saffiano leather. If the handles get dirty, I'll just clean them with leather cleaner. On saffiano leather, suntan will clean up nicely if it gets dirty, so I wouldn't be concerned about it on saffiano leather. :smile1:

I love both colors. I do feel like the suntan on the jules could pick up some dirt but is protected by the black block. The jules did get soaked in a wet snow/rain combo and dried perfectly but the leather is more of a pebbled texture.

Saffiano in ANY color is pretty durable. I am a little afraid of the suntan color in pebbled leather or the leather that mk uses on hamilton travelers. All I could see in the future were stains and denim transfer. I left the traveler sitting on the mk table. It was only $142...but would have looked terrible in the long run and I am gentle with my bags. I really like the camden satchel and thought about getting it in navy blue. Those tassels are everything!!

I saw the Camden in suntan at Dillards yesterday. It's gorgeous and on my list if it's still there when they have their clearance sale.

it's just such a hard decision! i think in the end i'll go with luggage just because of my concern regarding the lighter color and durability.. i don't want to always be worrying about my bag ya know? thanks ladies!!

The luggage / cognac is so much richer and prettier in my opinion. Either one are susceptible to stains as they are light in color. Only you can decide as we all have different tastes and opinions. For me it would be the luggage, hands down,

The short answer is...yes. It's a light brown. Depending on whether it's on pebbled leather, saffiano leather, or smooth leather will make the difference on the likelihood of the color transfer, though. You'd just have to be a bit more careful than with darker colored bags.

:tup: I think suntan is a light beige brown with pink toch, luggage is a dark cognac and peanut is a light beige with yellow touch. My opinion. I want suntan so much when I saw it online, but in nature I found peanut looks a little bit nobler. But it looks in every leather is different.

I know it's been a while since you posted but could you please post a picture of the Camden in Suntan? I'm stuck between buying it in Suntan, Peanut, or Luggage.
