Thoughts on longevity of gold chokers, how long will they be in style?

I've been about to purchase a delicate but solid minimalist gold chain for quite a while. I've been thinking about 14 inches, so right at the base of the neck. I know that chokers themselves, of all materials and widths might run in and out of trend, but do you think it's safe to say simple gold chokers will always be in style?

My mom bought a simple 15 inch chain many years ago in her early 20's, and she doesn't wear much jewelry, but still has it and it's the exact thing that's still on today.

Also, given the choice between 14 and 16 inches ( no custom length) which would you go for?

TIA

Depends on neck size. I’m petite with, well, a scrawny neck and 16 inches is actually a bit long on me. 15.5 is the perfect length.

As for chokers, they come and go, like everything else so it might be wise to select one that has or can have an extender to give you versatility.

I have a small neck and always custom. 14" works best on me as it hits right below the hollow of my neck which is the spot I want. Chokers are all about placement to fit you, so I would shorten if you have a small neck. 16" on me looks like a necklace and does not have the sand effect.

Not petite but have a thin neck. 15-15.5" works best for me, too. I love collars/chokers and don't think they are trendy.Diamond collar.JPG
