from what i've seen of his rings, i wouldn't think so (not that i have an engagement ring myself). i really like the double prongs and they seem fairly inconspicuous, particularly on a diamond of that size.
i think the diamond pictured here is of comparable size (the specs say 2.41 carats) and IMO the prongs don't take away from the look of the diamond at all.
Well, do you mean like 4 double ones? How many and what shape stone?
My stone is a RB 3.67 and that's what I want for it just like the one ^she pictured.
good luck iconic! i've sent my SO the artofplatinum link as well just so he's prepared . i think that's one of the pros of having been in a relationship with somebody for over 7 years-i can tell him exactly what i want and he won't run for the hills!
My ring is a LM, with 4 double claw prongs on a round 3.56 carat diamond. (and pear sidestones which have single claw prongs.) In no way would the double claw prongs detract from the size of your stone. They are so delicate that they are almost imperceptible. He is truly the master of dainty claw prongs and is quite an artist, so if he thought the claws would detract from the stone, he would tell you so. HTH!
A 2.5 ct. stone would be perfect with double claw prongs! I opted to have him make single claw prongs, but my diamond is only 1.31ct. Had my diamond been any bigger, I would've gotten the double claws. Fiance already knows that's how I want to set my future upgrade!
Love those double-claws of his, they are striking yet very delicate at the same time. His work is so beautiful - it would only add to the overall look of a lovely stone.
I don't think I have ever seen a setting of his I did not like. As everyone else said, I don't think the prongs will affect the way a 2.5ct stone looks. If you get one of the LM creations, be sure to post photos! I love his settings!
