I've worn them from time to time. If the earrings are fine jewelry (gold, ect), it's pretty easy for a jeweler to convert them to pierced by adding a post & changing the back to an omega back. I have a good friend who loves antique jewelry & has had some screw-on earrings she purchased at an antique auction converted to pierced.
