Thoughts On B25 Epsom (Retourne Style)

Hello!

I am considering the above combination but I heard it is pretty rare, unless it is a sellier style.

What are your thoughts?

Any particular reason why you’re considering this combo? I’ve seen plenty of B30 and B35 in Epsom (retourne) but not B25, so maybe it is rare. In any case I don’t like Epsom, particularly in a Birkin retourne, but that’s just me.

I guess I appreciate the structure in this style vs the Epsom Sellier as I find it too stiff, haha! Yes, I haven't any in 25 as I was also looking for pictures.

I have 2 Epsom B30s/retourne. Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I have no regrets here re: leather type and retourne combo.

Sorry, I don’t have a B25 version to enlighten all of us via pics.

Hermes discontinued making the B25 retourne in Epsom back in 2018/2019. Prior to that it was a fairly standard spec for the B25. You can, of course, still find them preloved but new from the store won’t be possible.

I’m personally not an epsom fan. I would not personally purchase or seek it out. I believe it’s hard to spa and I know it’s reported to not scratch easily but I did not find that to be true with my Constance before I sold it. I do find it pretty in the sellier versions personally. Not sure how epsom would age in retourne long term

It tends to get “waves” and “wrinkles” from the side stitching toward the middle, which is why I believe they stopped using it in Retourne styles.

I’ve definitely seen those on the resale market. Makes sense with the nature of epsom!

Oh my! "I use and abuse this bag"... Sounded so cruel but yet, it is meant to be used and enjoyed! I think its really pretty.

I agree! At the back of my mind, I am also wondering how much slouching will take place with my K25s (which are all in Retourne styles)
