Thankyou all for the comments and input- reason I asked was I told my dear SA about the trend for smaller bags and she mentioned that Hermes, VCA and Chanel directors / design teams scour the message boards on input on what to develop for the future. I am definitely not an expert in Hermes - but found the comment interesting.

I find the Lady Dior mini adorable which is comparable to a B20 I believe ...The 24/24 also came out in the mini size which is amazing ... will be curious to see if they ever choose to roll out the Birkin mainstream in this size.

I just don't think this tote style was designed to be that small. It looks like a dollhouse model to me. But that just means if one comes out, there will be more for those who love it

I do think it would do better and work better if it has a strap and maybe is simplified - like the nano Sac de Jour. The SdJ is basically a Birkin without a flap or a turnlock, and the nano size looks pretty good to me as mini bags go (it's also 22cm not 20).
So maybe not a Birkin 20, but a version of the Birkin that works in mini size.

I just hope H doesn't take mini bags to Jacquemus level. I love him as a designer but he means those bags satirically, and that's not H, to me.

For reference against 20 Kelly and nano sac de jour

I think Birkin size 20 will be a super cute bag for many that loves mini bags and if they can carry it in style .... but PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT put any strap on it !

My 2 cents.

I think a handbag with a handle that‘s too small to put your hand in is just silly. And in this case it would be $10K silly.

Nano bags have their purpose. They are much better with a shoulder strap so you don’t have to worry about fitting your hand in a handle.

A Birkin with a shoulder strap is not a Birkin. It’s something else entirely. It changes the aesthetics of the bag.

Instagram life is not real life. The pictures look marvelous. I just do not think a 20 Birkin would be comfortable to use. 25 Birkins are tiny enough.

I would not be interested in this. More for everyone else.
