Yeah I don't think this is real. The gate doesn't close all the way, and her beat down only happens conveniently out of line sight of the camera.

I have seen this before and apparently the woman happens to be a kickboxer, if I remember correctly. That is pretty scary and she's brave.

It's right hand drive. This is in Asia. It's a pretty common way of theft. Notice the guy carried a large knife rather than gun, since guns are illegal and knives are more common.

In my place, an old lady whose neclace was being snatched as she was getting out of her car managed to kick the thief and defend herself. She explained the whole thing on TV and was a heroine for a few days.

I agree, letting go is probably the safest thing to do. But sometimes we are facing situations where we have to make quick decisions that we react differently and do something we thought we would never do.
