Hi, fairly new to TPH and this is my first post. I just dived into the world of handbags at the beginning of the year. I decided, at my husband’s urging, to stop buying “plastic” bags that fell apart within two to three months.

I now have a small collection of four bags, want to add a fifth and I want it to be one of these black bags. Trying to decide between this Frye Melissa Satchel and this Marc Jacobs Grind Boho. I think these are both good quality bags but not sure which is more durable and that’s my secondary concern after visual appeal.

Will someone with experience with both brands share their opinion?

Hi, saw that you’re the only poster about the Marc Jacobs Boho Grind. Picked one up recently from Bloomingdales on sale. Did you end up selecting the bag? How has it held up after 3 years?

Oh, hey! Wow, yeah, it’s a pretty obscure bag apparently. A shame because it’s lovely, thoughtfully designed and of excellent quality. Seems a lot of people stick with popular bags at the risk or reward of blending in depending on one’s perspective.

Anyway, it’s seen heavy use, weeks at a time over the years and it’s still in great condition. Has a little cracking around the interior glazing where I overstuffed it but that’s all!

Have it posted for sale on Poshmark at the moment because I have too many black bags. That way, you can see the condition for yourself;also have it in olive in like new condition in case you fall for the bag like I think you may

Enjoy your great find and pleasure meeting someone with similar taste!

Being the curious sort, I ran off to Bloomingdales site to see what it was selling for. Wow, it’s a completely different bag now. Seems it no longer has the contrast stitching or the hidden pocket; is that correct?
