Hi ladies. I have a credit to Coach Factory online store that I am itching to spend.

I am looking at two bags and would love some opinions.

They are both listed as crossbody bags, but at a 21.5" strap drop that would probably be a shoulder bag only for me. I am 5'9.

Peyton Bennett Mini (brown) & Peyton Top Handle Pouch (black)

Thanks much!!

I'm also 5'9", and I have a Peyton mini Bennett in brown (same color as the link) and a matching small wallet. I love this set and have been carrying it a lot the last couple of weeks. I've only carried it as a shoulder bag with the long strap, or removed it and hand carried it by the shorter handles. I'm not usually a signature fan, but I think this print is pretty subtle, and I like the color contrast between the canvas and the trim. I'm pleasantly surprised by the number of compliments I get on this set. I'm not sure why they're listed as an online exclusive. My outlet has a shelf full at 50% off.
I had a top handle bag. I loved everything about it except the stiff top handle that does not fold down, so I sold it on ebay. My personal opinion is that it's not as attractive as bags whose handles fold down when using the longer strap, and it catches on things (coat buttons, etc).
But they are both nice bags. I hope you enjoy whichever one you choose.

Thank you.

It appears by the photo that the long strap on the mini Bennett does not come off, which would be a bummer.

I hadn't seen that the shoulder strap on the pouch doesn't lay down. That's a bummer too.

Maybe neither of these are great options??

Another at 5'9 tall here. I read above where you posted maybe those are not the right options for you.
I usually buy the Madison new leather swingpack for cross body #49992, but it is just flat and no top handles.
Did you look at the Coach Madison mini Christie carryall in saffiano leather #30402 on FOS ? I don't own it yet but may order one .
It is a little more than the others but was a full price item.
The handles lay flat and the long strap is removable. Here is a review link from Coach:

I also think that the Collette leather swing pack #F52177 is good for cross body but has no short straps and is kind of small.
Good luck with your decision .:smile1:

The long strap on the mini Bennett does come off now. That must be an old photo. Or... the online exclusive part is that they are old ones that the long strap can't be removed? Might be worth calling them to ask? I love mine with the removable long strap, so if the long strap on the one on FOS is removable, I still vote for that one.

Thank you so much for all the detailed info! I really appreciate it. That mini Christie is super pretty.

So I just got off the phone with the online outlet and the employee said that the mini Bennett they are offering does not have a detachable long strap and they are back ordered.
It seems strange to me that they would have two different designs of the same bag in current production.

Maybe I buy it and if it is not detachable I can return it to a local store. ??

Ok. I purchased the mini Bennett online. If it comes with a long strap that is I undetachable then I can return it to a store and use my store credit that way. (I assume). Thanks for the tips.

Here's a pic of my mini Bennett with removable long strap:
