I write the title, hoping you'll catch on to the irony...(and please do catch the irony, because I don't in any means to imply that anyone is an "old bag")...
Posting a bag that I got at a consignment shop in Boston, MA, now closed, sadly, with debts to their clients. I really hope those clients get back what they deserve.
This was $45 at purchase, about five years ago, which made the insipid (albeit well-intentioned) girl at the counter blink twice, considering that she thought the lining was "rawhide leather" or "rawhide suede" (when it was simply...leather); I want to thank my mom for opening me up to the world of Coach. All those times when I was a little girl and I pushed her along the purse department, desperate that she wouldn't stop to gaze...well, years later, Ithis old bag.jpg this old bag.jpg finally got it and was like, "OH. Now I see what you see." You may have created a bit of a monster but I will forever be indebted to your amazing sense of style. I love you, mom.

Such sweetness! Thank you for sharing this story. My mom only has one inexpensive bag. I hope to gift one to her if she wants and likes one.

My mom was not really into expensive purses either so not sure why I am obsessed. I do remember that I got my first Coach (a Janice in brown leather) at a Coach within a Department store back in 1994. I had gotten a really strange electronic watch from someone as a graduation gift from HS and I exchanged it for the purse. I think I only had to pay an extra $50 or something to get it. And that was it, I was in love with Coach.

My mother also was not into expensive handbags. She was into trends, but was more into Liz Claiborne and labels like that (back when Liz Claiborne was a more expensive brand and not sold at JCPenney- talking 80's and early 90's). My first Coach bag was purchased with Christmas money from my grandfather in 2000. I got the bug from my aunt, who has always been into fashion and beautiful handbags and accessories! I still have that bag too, a small red leather one. Even then I wasn't into the Coach C's logo, lol!
