it's spring cleaning, and brought this out from the cupboard.

It's wood. Not intending to ever use it.

Ferragamo also made handbags out of wire and clear plastic, which is also kept away in the cupboard.

Thank you for viewing, this was purchased in the mid 90's, so it's been almost 20 years that this bag has not seen the light.

Here are the two more Ferragamo non leather bags, one wired and the other in plastic.

Enjoy.

Really neat! I really like the wired one.

The plastic one could definitely be used to make a modern statement. Chanel's No5 and CoCo bottle bags selling for over $10000 each were plastic as well, and bloggers/fashionistas were raving about them just a few seasons ago.

Thank you for viewing.
The other plastic piece in my collection is the Chanel which seems more sturdy simply because it is much smaller and has a lining inside to lend it more structural support....

Wow! What a special collection you have. I would LOVE to see the plastic one come back again. I could understand why the wooden one would be more of a collector's piece as it looks heavy and there's no flap or other way to secure the open top from what I can see but the plastic and metal ones should be (carefully) strutted down streets - they truly are statement pieces.

I remember there was a wooden bag with a flap, similar in design to the metal and the plastic one. But I bought this instead, the display unit at the Lane Crawford store in Central had a small chip due to the constant flipping I guess.
A case of "a flip off the old block".
