I've never owned anything patent. I have lambskin, caviar and canvas bags only. I love the look of Dior's patent and wanted to get a wallet in their patent. I did see a review of someone who had a chanel patent wallet and it scratched and colour transfer from black interior would permanently ruin her wallet. Since SLGs and wallets get tossed around inside bags, I was worried about purchasing a DIOR patent wallet. Most of the reviews I see on youtube have the SLGS in dior lambskin only. Can anyone help me? was wondering if anyone else had one and could tell their experience

Reactions: A bottle of Red
I have a classic Dior red patent wallet from about 10 years ago. I really enjoyed using that wallet, very low maintenance, threw it around and never worried about it one bit. I agree that there is some colour transfer on the patent. I've also noticed I got a pen mark which I couldn't remove unfortunately. I imagine the colour transfer will be more visible on lighter patent SLGs, my wallet is still quite dark.

Hi! I have a cloud blue card holder and black patent LD nano puch both in patent leather. I've had my cardholder for about lil over a year now and used it almost everyday and it's held up pretty well based on my experience. As for LD nano pouch, I've only used it a couple of times in the rain and no damage whatsoever. I don't see any scratches or color transfers on either of them. Only thing that bugs me is the endless finger prints but I just wipe them off after each use with a soft cloth. Here are some photos for you to see. Hope this helps.

I have a light pink long Lady Dior wallet that I bought in 2011 that I'm still using. It gets thrown in my bag with my card holder, kindle and whatever else I need to take with me and apart from the patina, it's still as good as the day I brought it home. I've not had any issues with colour transfer although any water and pen marks to the leather is permanent. I'm not sure how, probably from a pen in my bag that I didn't realise had fallen out while the tip was still out, but it made a small mark on the corner of my wallet that won't come out.

I know the video in the above comment shows how to remove pen marks but the fact that she has rubbing alcohol as one of her tools makes me nervous. It's quite a harsh liquid on leather and I would be worried about long term damage to the material

Unfortunately I had bad experiences with light colored patent Dior items (the handles of my medium gray patent lady dior and my beige patent wallet all discolored although I am very careful with my items). So I only recommend patent in darker colors. For darker colors, the wear and tear is just great!
