I am in Paris this week and had planned to stop at FSH for what I thought would be a stress free experience. I wasn't in search of a Birkin or Kelly, I just wanted a basic 28cm jypsiere in black togo.

When i arrived at FSH, I found the SA I normally work with and she went to look for the bag. When she came back, she said they didn't have it but she had gotten permission to order it for me. Of course, I jumped right in and asked if that meant I could order any bag and she said "no, all the spots for Birkins and Kellys are gone for the season" (which was obviously not true because other SAs were carting the swatch books and the sample bags all over the floor).

So, i ordered the bag and we continued the conversation and I happened to mention my current obsession with Sanguine and, again, she asked if I wanted to order a bag. Before I left the store, I had ordered three bags...the original jypsiere, a sanguine 35 bolide and a gold Kelly cut. The whole thing seemed
bizarre and I just wondered if anyone else has had this experience?

this is also my understanding. the slots for birkin/kelly fill up within a week, while you can still order other types of bags when there are still available slots. i heard that every morning before the store is open, SAs will be informed what slots are still available.

Well, i do agree with you that when I was in FSH, i was told no more birkin/kelly were available for order as all slots were filled up, i did see other customers flipping through the swatch and trying the sample birkin. but i did not ask why cos it goes without saying.:p

So does that meant if I m in FSH, and they do not have the bag I m looking for, say a Constance élan , they do happy to order it for me?? Can you specific on the leather, like jypsiere can come in fjord/clemance/ swift, so did u order the leather for your jyp, webaj? Just curious about this situation, As I never have a chance to go to FSH, but may be soon this end of the year! So knowing this, it might help! Thanks

Forever132...this is the first time I have been give the option to order. In all my previous trips to FSH, they have either had the bag or they did not. I was given the option to order any leather that the bag is made in but not a SO leather like fjord. I can definitely tell you that, in addition to the birkin/Kelly ordering that I witnessed, I wasn't the only person who was offered the option to order yesterday. It seemed as if almost everyone in the leather department was ordering something. Not sure why there was such a focus on orders yesterday.

if you got what you want, then I'd say it is a good day. :yes:

i think your perception and expectation will determine that ... too many people obsess about getting a birkin that many times, a trip to one of the most beautiful city becomes ruined.

Interesting thread!

When I went you could put your name down for the bags that have not been spoken for this season - you cannot choose leather specifically, just colour and hardware at most, and in some instances, size.

And yes, Hanyeu is right. You cant just go for a bag(s) and not enjoy Paris itself.
