Travel Things to do in Augusta GA?

My DH and I are taking a trip to Augusta for memorial day. Last time I went there it was just to help my sister move, so I didn't get to do anything. So this time I want to do more of the fun touristy things. Any ideas? We are willing to take day trips 1-2 hours away. TIA

If you can make it up to Atlanta, there are a lot of things to do there. There really isn't a whole lot to Augusta IMO though.

Hmmmm....you just missed Masters, other than that there's pretty much nothing else! Sorry. I've been here 7 years and other than the few neat restaurants downtown there really isn't much. Defintely make the trip to Hotlanta though.

You can drive over to Aiken, SC, not a long drive at all. It has a very picturesque downtown, lots of old trees; this time of year the hydrangeas will be blooming everywhere. It's a lovely small town. Nothing specific to do though, same as notmuch to do in Augusta.
