Hi :D

Let me begin by asking you ALL to help me in my dilemma...Please!

I am planing my watch purchases (won't be able to spend more in a very very long time so its really important).

I like the look of the two tone watches and love the versatility of them but still like to have an all ss watch and an all gold watch. I admit that I'm kinda matchy matchy too!

So I am torn between 2 options:

1- All gold Rolex - no diamonds (Datejust, Oyster, 36 mm) AND a stainless steel Cartier Balloon Bleu - no diamonds (medium size).

OR

2- Two tone Rolex with diamonds (Datejust, Oyster, 36 mm).

Are those 2 options even equivelant in price? I'm sorry I dont know the precise prices yet but I assume the 1st option costs alot more am I right?

Please chime in and help me in this and pleeease vote!

Thanks alot!!!

Wow, huge decision! I'm reserving judgement until some more opinions roll in. This is very interesting.:D:D

I know! VERY huge... I wont be making any more watch purchases for a VERY long time so I want to make sure I make the right decision and get the watch/watches that will serve me for years and years...

I am hoping to get as many opinions as possible!

see i can't choose, because I love diamonds. So I would say get a separate gold and a separate silver since it seems you do like the idea. I'd get the cartier with diamonds, and then wait a little longer for a gold rolex. To me, two tone isn't as classic as solid, but thats just my own personal opinion. Like I bought my bf a two toned watch but only because he had both colors already. I really don't think you can go wrong with a diamond cartier and maybe a plain gold rolex.

my concern is that if you go with option 1, you will ultimately favor one over the other, and then the other will not get worn too much.
So, go with option 2.

Have fun shopping!

Have you tried these watches on in person? It's crucial. If so, what sings to you? It's not really an abstract exercise, to be judged from pictures. Putting watches on your wrist clarifies what really moves you.

Of course there are other styles in both Rolex and Cartier that are stunning--have you looked and compared? The Cartier La Dona, for example, is interesting and beautiful. Not to mention brands like JLC and Chopard. (I can't tell how much research you've done to this point.)

If you want to know rough retail prices, check jomashop.com and swissluxury.com, although they don't have each and every watch on site.

I think buying two watches at one time is strange and likely to confuse you. By getting one good one and seeing how you use it, you'll have a much better sense of what you actually like or still need to get.

If I'm not mistaken, I think that the price of all gold rolex with no diamonds could actually get me the 2 tone one with diamonds + the Cartier.... Am I right?????
