The ultimate designer handbag? By Leonardo da Vinci!

The ‘Pretiosa’ bag ... designed by no less than Leonardo da Vinci. It was put into production in 2012 by the Florence-based label Gherardini (the family name of Lisa del Giocondo, the original sitter for the Mona Lisa). The limited edition of 99 pieces were sold for undisclosed sums. It’s strikingly similar to the more ornate versions of the Dolce & Gabbana Sicily, very Italian! What a beautiful bag.

Have people already seen this? I just stumbled across it in a newspaper and can’t find it mentioned on tPF, but maybe I’m just late to the game.

I see Dolce & Gabbana Sicily, I also see Gucci's early 1940s/50s Bamboo Top-handle and they of course have the Leonardo print inspired by the same sketch. We have recently had the LdV Mona Lisa LV X Jeff Koons line too.
