The Subtle EPI Club.

I recently got an epi ivorie pochette accessories and wanted to get a long matching leather strap to make it a cross-body bag. Any suggestions of a matching color to epi ivorie from mautto or the other vendors often suggested on TPF for selling replacement straps? I tried searching the forum and came up empty. TIA!

Pumping up this thread which should not be so low! I am really feeling Epi leather at the moment. It might have been my mum’s old Cipango Noe which my sister is putting again into circulation: what a good looking bag. But also, as we move away from logo mania (we will at some point won’t we? Please?) the subtlety of Epi is going to come as a relief, I find. I feel it is such a mature old school look, but also so modern and sharp, specially in black. But oh, those jewel tones of vintage Epi!

One bag I am eyeing is the whole Noctambule/Ombré range. This looks so modern. And I am loving the Speedy in Epi, s Speedy in Castilian red is perfection.
Anyone with experience in these bags or suggesting other Classic Epis that should be brought to life? (Such as obviously the Cannes?).

Hi,

I'm kind of a Spade/Kors/Coach kind of gal, but lately, LV has gotten under my skin. Until recently, I've never been interested, but I stopped into the LV shop and held them and touched them and, and....something happened. Now all I do is search for good finds on a pre-loved LV. I bet I'm not alone.

I like the damier and recently I discovered the EPI leather.

My question--what is your experience with the EPI leather? It looks stiff and plastic-y online (I've only seen pics). But then, I often wonder about the canvas Speedy if its lack of structure is problematic. A EPI Speedy might fix that (or is that not a problem). I've found a Malesherble EPI online, but it looks tight, hard to get the hand into. The feel of the EPI is what I am most curious about.

Your thoughts?

My 1st LV. 1990 Speedy 30 in red EPI. I did it!

She needed a little TLC. The interior was almost black with ick, and all the brass was tarnished (very dark with green oxidation).

I cleaned the brass with Brasso including the zipper, cleaned the inside with foamy Woolite and rinsed it out in the sink, and gave the exterior some Bickmore 4.

She has some odd wrinkles near the zip, not sure what to do about that.

The inside of the handles are darkened with wear, but I don't think there's anything I can do about that. I think the color has faded off; I don't think it's dirt.

Sadly, there is a small tear at the zipper. Can anyone offer advise on what to do about that?

I am very happy with how well the brass cleaned up. The locking keys were so very dark and look at them now!

I have some Maguire's leather wipes that I use on my car seats. Would it be advisable to occasionly use them on epi? I would rather use that when the baby wipe.

Yay Epi!
