The side buckle trend

I guess it is a thing now to wear your belt buckle on the side instead of the front - the first time I saw this was in Gucci's mens show ss 2013 , in Prada's last show they did this as few as a few others . what do you think of this I think it looks cool myself -however my buckle is a little big and not sure if it can be pulled off -

Some times if I want the colour of the strap but not the buckle I'll wear it facing back, as for trends, just do what's comfortable - these things are just a stylist's whim so that someone somewhere has something 'new' to report on
