The Row TR1 vs. Celine Trifold? Who's Copying Who?

Stumbled across The Row's TR1 bag as I was browsing Saks' new Barneys section (RIP):

Is it just me, or is this TOO similar to Celine's Trifold (below)? Is there any evidence The Row came out with this first? If not, how did they get away with it?

The handles look identical as do the proportions. But the trifold is far better looking

I think Celine have stopped making the Trifold. I saw a bunch in Woodbury Common last week. So maybe The Row doesn’t care or think it won’t matter.

Hi, mine is the small size and as we know with Céline is never really small. I still love and use mine, it’s more than adequate as a daily bag. I wouldn’t recommend it as work bag but if you did want that I’d suggest the medium size. It’s also featherlight as there’s no hardware. Let me know if you need any more help.
