Hi all - I'm new to MK...have long lusted after the saffiano totes and have a rose gold MK watch. But today I walked into the MK store and had a bag catch me completely by surprise - the Stanthorpe.

Perfect balance of classic and edgy, totally functional with arm/shoulder/crosscody carry options, in a sumptuous leather that has a bit of pebbling like Alexander Wang. Gorgeous hardware...not too much but just the right amount of bling.

Sorry I'm out of town and can't post pics until I get home, but am just so excited about this bag I had to start a thread. Anyone else got it yet?

I am obsessed with this bag too. It's gorgeous. At something like 368 or 398 bucks, it's an investment. I have not been able to stop thinking about it since I saw it in Macy's. I finally got up the nerve to tell my husband I want it for Christmas. I had it all planned out. I was going to say that the cost is only like a dollar a day..I have overtime...My birthday is in January and if you get me the purse you don't need to buy me a second present. Turns out when I told him he paused and then said "OK". I will have this bag before Christmas if I have my way! It is a classy well made bag, but hip as well

Eek - sorry I won't be able to post pics - I returned it! It was beautiful, but I found my HG...a Reed Krakoff Mini Atlantique 30% off! Couldn't afford both.

I got the Stanthorpe large satchel in black from my DH for Christmas. I love it so much. I prefer it without the long strap and with the gusset zippers zipped a little more than halfway up. All the girls in the office have been by to visit it this week! :p

This is my second MK bag — my first is the Bennet satchel in orange. The Stanthorpe will probably see a lot more use.

I have this bag too - just got it. It's wonderful. Reminds me a LOT of my Skorpios. I was pleasantly surprised by the leather for a bag that wasn't a collection bag. I was looking for something in bridle leather for a knock around bag - and fell in love with this.

I fell in love with the medium Stanthorpe satchel that I gave my mom months ago. Wish I had bought one for myself but the gold hardware held me back..Now I regret it. Just recently found out they had offered this bag with gunmetal hardware and python embossed leather. Now it's too late to order online....It's the bag that got away and now when I went purse shopping again today I compared everything else to it

An update: I thought I had found a bag to "satisfy" me and get me over my Stanthorpe obsession, and it was the Coach Legacy Patricia. But I was so disappointed when I got it (via online exclusives at Coach). There was no locking mechanism for the front flap (and I don't like the "turn lock" option), and the leather and lining just felt so cheap (don't get me wrong I usually love the feel of my leather Coach purses, but that one was different)...I decided I had to return it and fulfill my *obsession* with the Michael Kors Stanthorpe...I got the same one I bought for my mom a year ago even tho it has gold hardware. Nothing else I look at measures up and I am always comparing to it...

So anyway *HAPPY*....finallly getting my own Stanthorpe :) It's so very me.
