Hmmm. MK send me an email this morning to announce their new selma, and although I'm not normally a fan of studs I confess that I'm somewhat intrigued by the white version (It also comes in red and turquoise and retails for 428.00) but having just purchased the Selma in nude there's no way I'd be able to justify purchasing another version of the bag (especially at full price). I also feel like it's a bit too trendy with the studs and I'll hate it next season. What do you think? Love it? Too trendy? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Where did you find the Selma in nude? I would love it in that color, have it in black now. Thanks!

I love this! Just like indi3r4, I have a cadet Selma on its way...so probably I will resist purchasing this one as well. I am tempted to buy the studded iPhone case though, then I can have the best of both worlds! :-) I also think, for me at 5' tall, the studded Selma may be a bit too large.

Lord and Taylor and I just got it in the mail today and it's lovely! Use code FRIENDS to get 25% off.

Now THAT might be the solution to my li'l bag dilemma...I can get the studded wallet to go with my cadet without the guilt. But I do like the larger size of the studded version. Decisions, decisions.

Thanks lovies for all your comments, really appreciated ;)

I like the new one but the straps need to be longer. I can't see wearing it long in the crook of the arm or handheld long. Too heavy for that. I understand that it has a longer strap too which is nice but really how comfortable will that skinny strap be with such a large bag flopping against u?! I really love the studs and want so much to like this bag but I don't think it would work for me.

The Tanner tote made by Coach is a much better design IMO. They just made the straps longer to fit on the shoulder...only thing I didn't like about the Coach Tanner was the break away zipper. They may have an updated version now tho like Candace.

Speaking as a Dooney girl I'd have to say the comfort level of that strap would depend on the weight of the leather. Dooney leather bags are notoriously heavy - I have the large Dillen Double Pockiet satchel and the weight is pretty substantial even when it's empty. On days when I'm carrying more than usual I use the strap - however, at the same time the top handles rest in the crook of my arm so the weight is distributed. My MK cadet bag doesn't seem heavy and I haven't seen the studded bag in person yet, but if the leather is heavy it can make things pretty awkward and sometimes just downright uncomfortable. But I do love the larger size of the studded bag - it's the studs that were partially responsible for making my decision about purchasing this bag so difficult.

Hmm, I will have to see about this Tanner. I stopped buying Coach bags years ago when they started going logo crazy and started using a lighter weight leather. But I think I'll go take a peep and check things out. :smile1:

I was admiring these yesterday online. I've had plenty of bags with studs, some subtle some not so subtle; I don't go for studs on everything. On this particular bag, I like the studs when they blend in more: soft tan & white.

I have the MK saf leather studded Hamilton. That bag is HEAVY. The stuff in my bag is minimal too! I cant imagine people who carry a lot. I love the look of it but it's not comfortable at ALL to carry. Im used to Dooney Florentine also and have 4 bags, including two large satchels and none seem as heavy as the Hamilton. I can't wear it in the crook of my arm long and the shoulder strap isn't so comfy either. It could b all of the studs that's making it heavy tho too. I love the studs but I feeling like I'm lugging around a bowling bag...with the bowling ball in it! It's a study well made bag tho I will say that.

Coach Legacy leather is thicker and it reminds me more of the vintage Coach bags. Legacy leather is what brought me back to Coach. Def check out the Tanner Tote and see what u think compared to the MK.

Lol, that's how it is with the Dillen...it feels like you're carrying luggage instead of a purse! I like the Tanner! Especially the mini with those huge tassels, very, VERY cute. Going to have to go into Nordstrom or Coach this weekend and see it in person to get a feel for the leather. I've also been considering the Kate Spade Gold Coast Shimmer tote and think I'm leaning more in that direction.

It's too trendy for me with the studs. It's great without them though.
My sentiments exactly. I like the size of the bag and think it's cute but in my heart I just feel like I won't be in love with those studs next season. I do like studs (in limited quantity) but I prefer to limit them to shoes or jewelry....and the 2 digit price range :p
