Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!!
I normally post in the LV forum and this must be my first post in the Jewelry department
I'm not sure if this is relevant or not since the watch is for men but I'm sure the ladies will like it too. Anyway, I'd like to share with you guys my latest acquisition from Paris - the Calibre de Cartier in SS. This baby is smoking hot and I've always drooled after it since Cartier launched its mega promotion campaign on the web and prints.
I am fascinated by Cartier's first fully in-house automatic movement. This detaches the brand's reputation from just being a jeweler to a well respected manufacture status. Spec-wise it's pretty good, 27 jewels, 48 power reserve etc (Google "Calibre de Cartier review" if you're interested in the technical stuff). The size at 42mm is perfect for my rather large wrist and the dial is just awesome in my opinion. A mixture of Cartier's distinctive roman numerals and hour markers is pure genius. The date window is pretty unconventional but that gives the watch a unique character.
What makes this watch even more special to me is that I purchased it from Cartier's historic flagship boutique in Paris at 13 Rue de la Paix. The store was majestic and the service I received was one of a kind. They actually brought me champagne and chocolates to celebrate my small purchase (most customers at that boutique spend five to six figure on stones and watches made of precious metal)!! You do get a special edition box as well. And yes I've paid the full price-tag as they did not offer any discount. The experience was well worth it though.
That's it from me! Enjoy the pics and have a nice day/evening.
Cheers,
Ben
P.S. The watch has got its own website: http://www.calibre.cartier.com
