Hi everyone!

As as soon mommy to be I am looking for a nice looking baby bag but also one that has to be practical. Who says carrying a lot of stuf cannot be stylish :)
I have been eying the Neverfull since it can fit a lot but I also read comments (on youtube where I looked at reviews) that some would advice against it because the handles are thin and can dig deep in the shoulder.
Do any of you use it as a diaper bag? Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

I also thought about using it as a diaper bag. But the problem is: the shoulder straps are always slipping off, so if you got your baby in one hand and the other hand needs to look for your diaper bag it’s super stressful. I would recommend you a backpack or a crossbody bag :)

Thank you for your reply! I like it so much but I have to be wise :) hahaha

Having had two babies and tried LOTS of baby/diaper bags, I can honestly say that Neverfulls unfortunately do not work. Mainly because they don’t hang on a pram/stroller very well (they swing like crazy on the clips and don’t hook over handles easily). Trust me, you will not want a bag on your shoulder while being out anywhere with a baby (despite the Instagram influencer pics!). I completely and totally recommend getting a proper baby bag and then having something small like a Pochette Accessoires for your phone and wallet with a crossbody strap.

You will be pushing or carrying your baby a lot and will not want an awkward bag. You’ll need compartments and easy access to all your baby bits. Convenience is key with a new baby.

Good luck with your new baby and your search for a bag

I have been here !

I wanted a diaper bag that I could still use without it obviously being a diaper bag later on (and diaper bags are expensive too - petunia etc)! I ended up going with a regular backpack but I still got a neverfull because it's a great bag. It might not be the best diaper bag but when I just need to carry a few diapers, slim pack of wipes, one change of clothes (kiddo is older now) and not bottles and swaddles and milk and travel pump - it works

I have the neverfull MM in DE and hardly uses it as my diaper bag. No zipper for closure and once you pack it with things, it becomes uncomfortable to carry on the shoulder.

I actually use my longchamp tote with a crossbody strap and bag organizer and it works really well as a diaper bag.

Good luck on your search!

After two kids, I highly recommend some fashionable backpack diaper bag. The neverfull gets extremely heavy and eventually starts to dig in your shoulder. Try looking into Caraa backpacks. That’s the one I’m currently using and used for the longest.
congrats on the baby and good luck!

I don't have kids but I do have NFs and I'm going to echo what has already been said above; skip the NF for now and go with an actual diaper bag that's designed for that specific job or even a backpack. The NF is a great tote but realistically it's impractical, although that doesn't mean you still can't treat yourself and use it more once your child is older.

I've had my Neverfull MM even before I got married but only used it as a 'baby' bag when my daughter was a bit older. I think it was when she was more than a year old, when she was eating more solids than taking formula. I had to bring so much stuff when she was younger (several bottles specially if we had to be out full day, change of clothes, nappies, etc). Those just won't fit in a NF MM. Also, I find that the straps are not made to carry bulky/heavy items.

I suggest you go for a backpack with several slots that's made to fit your baby's needs. You can still use the NF for your personal stuff or when your baby gets older and has less to bring when you travel.

I agree with the others that a NF doesn't work was a diaper bag. I've been using my Gucci diaper bag for almost 4 years. It's been great and so easy to keep clean. It also in amazing shape for a bag that's been used on a daily basis, stuffed beyond belief, and spilled on and in.

I also loved the idea of a backpack diaper bag too.

I echo the backpack recommendation. At least I find shoulder bags not to be very practical, especially for those times when you want to skip the stroller and you are carrying your kid around.

However, there are many great diaper bag brands now where they don’t look like diaper bags. Mina Baie, Azaria, etc., are wonderful diaper bag brands, they make bags that very few people would guess are diaper bags, and they start at very friendly price points. Plus, they have the pockets that make packing a diaper bag that much easier.

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for your advice! We are going for a "normal" budget backpack since here in the Netherlands it is common to leave your babybag behind at the daycare. (this is something I did not know, there is so much to learn yet as a new mommy to be :)
Soooooo that leaves me with another dilemma! Will I still treat myself to a neverfull since some of you say it is still a great bag for when my baby is a toddler or when I go into town (whenever that will be with the stupid lockdown) or!..... a totally different one... I have been eyeing the speedy 25 badouleire.

@viola84 I found I didn‘t use a ‘normal’ bag until my baby was around 2 yrs old. So yes, you could buy a Neverfull now and hold on to it but personally I’d wait until you feel that you will actually get use out of it (unless you feel that might be now?!) A Speedy 25b would definitely work alongside your diaper bag now though. Good luck with your new baby
