The model in the Borough ads sporting LV?

Why not? As long as she doesn't wear this in the shoots, then I don't see what is the big deal about it. I certainly don't want to be limited to flash only one brand, just because I'm working for it in their campaigns. She sports boroughs on plenty of other occasions already, so I think it's cool.

Errr, that's like Ronald McDonald eating at BK or Pepsi being served at a Coca Cola party.

But seriously, I would really be upset if I was Coach however if it's not stipulated in her contract then she's done nothing wrong. I doubt you'd see the LV model wearing a Coach bag though.

I have no idea what her contract says, but geesh, you'd think Coach would have insisted on some level of exclusivity... maybe they did and it's over, dunno.

But it struck me as odd. Like you said the Coca Cola/Pepsi comparison.

Hmm...well, Marc Jacobs wears Hermes and other brands too, not just products of his own line. I would seriously go nuts, if I could only wear the brand that I designed, or worked for.

I don't see this as a problem because based on what I've read in the financial news lately, Coach is planning to market more handbags at a higher price point. I would think they would prefer that a person featured in their ad campaign be seen carrying a higher priced luxury brand rather than a product from one of their current competitors (Kate Spade, Michael Kors, etc.).

If I worked for Coach, I would welcome one of my spokespeople being seen carrying a brand that I want to emulate......and I'm not saying "compete with" because Coach would have to make HUGE changes in lots of areas to be in the same category as LV in my opinion.

+1. Thinking the exact same thing.

I think it's ok that she's carrying the LV bag. It's absolutely beautiful, I must say.

But considering the price, which must be several thousand, I don't think it competes with Coach. I'd love that bag, but the chances of me spending that money on delicate light pink bag......are zero! I'd be too afraid to use it :)
