A small evolution update.
After I buy one pair of silk pants, the overall quantity of my wardrobe items will be 51. Here are the numbers:
- 14 items per tops (6 sweaters, 3 button up shirts, 3 silk camis and 2 long- sleeve shirts).
- 14 items per bottoms (3 jeans, 3 shorts, 1 skirt and 7 trousers).
- 1 shirt- legged jumpsuit
- 3 dresses
- 4 blazers
- 4 coats
- 4 bags (1 clutch, 1 big totes and 2 medium sized bags)
- 12 pairs of shoes (2 sneakers, 2 oxfords, 1 wedges, 1 sandals, 1 rain boots, 2 with ticker sole toots, 1 with thinner sole boots, 1 heeled boots and 1 loafers)
- 2 scarves
- 3 belts

I changed my style slightly during last summer, since I felt that I miss dressing up again, but still need my closet be functional for 3 scenarios- work, socialising and travels. Ideally, now I start shopping fasting till April (my birthday month), since I am now happy with my wardrobe.

What about you girls? Any changes/ evolutions/ updates?

Peace and prosperity to all

You really read my mind....I ve been thinking and asking again and again how to get these to Europe....but I would pay 30% extra for import and it´s not worth it. It is my favorite design. really.

Ooooh I  this!!
I am not sure my style has changed much and also I desperately hoping to lose 6 kg....and one size.
But I am with you on 3 scenarios, for me clothes for work, socializing, gym. No more party clothing but still the occasional dress up items.
-9 basic under tops (tshirts + tanks)
-5 dressy shirts (silk, button up cotton)
-3 bottoms skirts (A line skirt, mini skirt, round 50s skirt)
-4 bottoms trousers (carrot tailored, leggings, jeans, pleather)
-1 denim jumpsuit
-2 blazers
-5 shoes : trainers, high heels boots, doc martens, loafers, pumps
-2 bags (handbag APC, laptop backpack)
-3 coats (wool winter coat, faux sherling jacket, parka puffer)
.....I´m paying attention to my key words to create silhouettes : creative / minimalist / feminine (naturally I balanced too much towards masculine) or Feminine minimalist with a twist/edge. So I´m tryng to pay more attention to classy and feminine.

I read, K. Lagerfeld said once, something like: no person will ever look good in sweatpants unless doing jogging or at the gym. I don't remember the exact quote but it stuck in my head. I think it's that effort you put to make yourself look simply but classy. Of course no offense to people rocking sweatpants with heels or whatever you like! It's just something that stuck in my mind. It's not easy though, especially if you live in small city in the USA. I think it's the freedom here, people think it's normal to wear pajama to the store. I'm from Europe, and people there pay more attention to dress, let's say, appropriately? So pajama to bed, gym clothes to the gym. I live in the small city in the middle in OK now (ready to pcs soon ) and I went to the first day of my son's school a little while ago. I dressed him nicely, myself as well. Guess what. We were the only ones dressed like this. I think it's great to have freedom, you do what you want, you dress how you like, but then you look sort of out of place if you're trying to look good while people around are wearing whatever.

It's like East Coast vs West Coast in the US. People on the East Coast are more put together than California. As a California girl, I grew up with short shorts, tank tops, flip flops, etc. I went to the East Coast for professional school and was somewhat mortified when I walked into a lecture hall and realized I was the only person wearing Rainbow flip flops. I also remember walk in my bathing suite from my apartment to the pool (about 10 min walk) and I was getting so many stares/looks on the way there and back. Probably should have worn a cover up or something lol, but it never came to mind. Anyway, after that I went full out business casual. When I moved back to California I almost did a 180 and lived in scrubs, gym clothes, and sweatpants. And now I guess I'm in the middle. Business casual or scrubs at work. A little dressy when I go out but I dress more casually for errands and groceries. At home it's total lazy mode. :P

Boots!!
I´m looking for a simple yet feminine boot for everyday wear that will add some coolness and femininity to any outfit  Straight shaft, black, croco or not, small heel, pointy or almond toe.
Found these....but do you have other alternatives....especially European? (These are Tibi, Staud, Anine Bing)

Jimmy Choo has quite a few similar boots (Mavis I think), but they are pricy. I think I tried on a similar pair last year and they didn't fit my muscular calves. But if you're looking for designer, maybe try Jimmy Choo. They are pretty comfy overall.

Out of curiosity, how many coats do you have as a minimalist? What are they? What colors? if you want to share, where are you from? I currently live in Oklahoma (ready for pcs order soon) I have a generic version of beige/camel teddy coat from Amazon (winter with layering), classic tan burberry trench coat and I'm looking to add one more coat for now. I was eyeing the diamond quilted burberry jacket in navy or black-to have some diversity in colors.

And here is the one I'm thinking about

Not a minimalist and not planning to be one. Just trying to have a curated wardrobe lol.

Coats are my weakness. I absolutely love outwear despite living in sunny California. I try to only stick to buying one piece a year. And if I want to buy more, I have to sell what I have, so like a one-in one-out situation.
- 1 poncho (fendi)
- 1 oversized open cardigan/jacket (YSL) it's not really a jacket, but it's so big I treat it as a piece of outerwear
- 1 rain jacket (burberry)
- 1 suit jacket (burberry)
- 2 bomber jackets (burberry and YSL)
- 4 blazers (one is a blazer dress, but I will count it): all high street (Massimo Dutti, Reformation, Ba&sh, Maje)
- 1 cropped blazer: Zara

I am heavily considering getting a YSL blazer, which means 1-2 other blazers will need to be let go. But I really love all my current blazers, and will probably wear them until they just give out. So the YSL blazer will have to wait for a couple of years.

I was never much pf a clothing or shoe person. I have spent more on handbags and jewelry. My taste in clothing over the past few years has changed though. Before 2020 I used to dress very casually, jeans, t-shirt, boots, and moto jacket. In 2020, I went to see a friend and I dressed up and didn't wear any jeans. My brother said to me, "why can't you dress like this all the time." That hit something in me so I stopped wearing jeans. In 2021, I stopped wearing pants and now I only wear dresses. I am never going back. Dresses are so comfortable. I live in Texas and it rarely gets super cold. So, I have been hanging onto pants that I haven't worn in over 3 years and today I decided to declutter them. I was holding onto them in case I go back to the office but I have never worked in a business formal/business casual environment. I have worn dresses and leggings to work in the past and will probably continue to do so if I were to go back into the office. This has dropped my clothing collection down from 60 pieces down to 14 dresses.

Yes! I´m on a journey of being more classy and also amping up my feminine side, so looking into skirts and dresses. But I´m so afraid of appearing too classic! and mumsy. I havent found the right mix yet of dressy and chilled. classy and edgy. If you have any advice...

Back then when I wore moto jackets and blue jeans I used to feel dressed up. Because it has been awhile since I have worn jeans and I put them on I feel too casual in them. I grew up in a household where you do not go out in exercise clothing or leggings or sleepwear. Dressing the way I have for so long I have some how tricked my mind into thinking that jeans and pants are associated with those types of things. There are ways you can make your outfits more edgy. Instead of heels wear a pair of white sneakers with your dress or skirt. With a skirt, instead of wearing a blouse you can wear a concert tee. Some dresses are classy dresses and some or not. For example a t-shirt dress can be sporty. If you do not like that classic look there are bohemian looking dresses like a long sleeve maxi dress.

Thanks, I´m definitely not bohemian dresses style, but funny just as I type I´m wearing a skirt with white sneakers!
