Well, being the SP fanatic that I am, I just had to chime in!! June gave the perfect definitive history of Sweet Punk activity in recent years....(except that TWO black Siouxies showed up this year!.... LOL.... :graucho:) We can all vouch for the fact that SP sightings/sales are quite the rare event. Although I will say that in recent months there was an unusually high number of them that popped up..... almost all around the same time. A very bizarre cluster phenomenan.... So, maybe that means that the rare SP appearance has "blown its wad" for the time being, or maybe it means that people are seeing that studs are popular right now and will try and capitalize on that - -- Who knows? But it's always worth the search and the wait if you've got the HG itch real bad!! Perseverance definitely has its rewards as June and others can attest. And not to be a downer, but as others have mentioned, a black Sid is a rare and highly prized animal! They hardly ever show up, and when they do, the competition is fierce!! Welcome to the Sweet Punk club!! :ghi5: Happy hunting and best of luck!

^ matchka brings in some excellent points, as studs and the whole rocker vibe has definitely been one of the strongest trends this year. this brings out the SP's but also has non-MJ lovers doing a double take i think when they pop up as well. kate lamphear, lady cool of elle magazine, still rocks her sid with a vengeance, and she's got a whole cult of girls who want that which has been seen on her...but seriously, even if you have to wait years to get your paws on one, they are so worth it....

I love that she wears the same stuff over and over and over- like her Hermes collier de chien. She's like never without it. And her haircut! No one has inspired me to shave my head- but if anyone could it'd be K.L.

at one point I had two black sweet punks sids in my house.... I was trying to decide which one I liked best and then ended up returning one to NM. Had I known how difficult they were to find, I would have held on to it for another pfer. Oh well....

I'm still hunting for the HG of a fluo violet Debbie. If that ever appears, I would be all over it!

^ LOL!!! Picturing you with TWO sids gives me heart palpitations!!!! WOW!!! One fabulous sid on each shoulder!!!! I love it!!!

And I will def. be on the look out for the violet Debbie for you, now that I know about it..... We SP fanatics have to stick together!! :sunnies:sunnies:sunnies

^ Thanks matchka, :urock:!!

I remember snagging both those sids... my heart was palpitating as I was anxiously calling around the NMs during the last of the winter sales. They were practically last two left from all the stores!

i just had to say that ths thread and the continued nterest in the SP bags just makes me giddy. i WISH we could convince MJ to take another swing at SP bags....oh man do i ever. but i also really kinda like the fact they're so hard to find too. it makes the bag even more special and kinda 'underground' if that makes any sense...which completely and utterly ties in with the whole fact that the punk rockers these bags are named after are less mainstream as well. oh man, i could gush for pages about all the reasons why i adore these bags....and i was in bag envy for the longest time of thithi's awesome punk collection....
