I looked and looked for threads on this and couldn't find any...

Does anyone know the history of the tricolour Kellys? They seem to have been a consistent production item through at least certain periods. I see two colourways a lot: The natural with 2 reds combo and the navy/green/rouge H (?) combination.

Of course there have been/are many, many other combinations but I am just wondering: was this a "thing" at one point in time? Was it the fashionable look? Was it a craftsman's whim that took off? :thinkin:

TIA if anyone knows, I am truly an H dork!!

I have only seen tri-colored kellys that were SOs. I still dream about one posted on here that was 3 colors of grey ostrich. Gorgeous.
I talked to the H expert at Heritage about this and he said the Rouge H/Brique/Gold sellier tricolour that a few of our members have was a production item in at least the 80s and 90s - not a special order but a collection piece H made fairly regularly. Makes sense as there are so many tricolours in the exact same combo.
He also said the similar sellier in bleu marin and green (?) was also production.

Good to know. I have seen quite a few of those. I was thinking of a tri-color grey kelly I dream about.
