Hi all!

I must admit I have a new Hermes crush: The Lydie. I spent my time searching threw the forum and web but I could not find a lot of information about the Lydie.
So I thought maybe some of our experts here would know a little bit more about
this gorgeous bag and we could share stories and pictures about it.

Some general questions:

At what time was the first Lydie created?

When did they stop the production?

Would it be possible to get a Lydie via SO?

In which sizes did they come out?

Is there a “newer” and an “older” style of the Lydie?
(Because there are different ways the straps are attached, I’ll post a picture)

In which leathers/colours were the bags produced?

Did Hermes ever produce it with Palladium HW? (I never saw that before)

Thank you so much, I’ll hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I never really noticed this style. It looks like a great clutch, not too small and not too big. I am wondering how much it can hold looking at the width, it looks a wee thin?

I don't know the details except that it's not currently being made by Hermes and is only available on the resale market. I do hope they bring it back as it's a very sweet little handbag.

I believe the Lydie was made in the 1970s-1980s and into at least the early 1990s before Hermes ceased production. A great vintage bag; super functional. The strap is removable so it can be carried as a clutch or on the shoulder. I purchased mine from a reputable reseller on Malleries named Garo, who frequently has Lydies for sale; you can do a search on Malleries to find current offerings. I've only ever seen it come in one size and with gold hardware. The bag measures about 10"x6". Here's a modeling pic from that seller to give you an idea on size.

Beautiful pic!!!! :flowers:
Thank you so much Cosmopolitan for the infos!!!!! Do you know anything about the 2different ways of attaching the strap and what it is about?
It seems like the bag is very thin, what fits in your bag?

My 1978 Japanese Hermes catalogue has pics of various versions of the Lydie. With the 1978 currency exchange rates, a boxcalf Lydie was 270,000yen or approximately US$1,450.

Here's an old pic of my love:love:. With a birth year 1989, it is certainly a newish Lydie.
