I’m more concerned with the $350 price tag on such a nice Bal.
They’re killing the value of the bags.

As a very longtime online seller, I’m
going to be frank and say that blaming sellers for “killing the value” is incorrect.

With the exception of amateur sellers who don’t do any research (like the apple green Bal wallet for $50 I posted on Finds), BUYERS set the price.

Styles and colors BUYERS will pay a lot for get listed, and sold for, a lot.

The ones that are less desireable will only sell if they are priced cheaply.

With Bal, most of the HG bags are Firsts, Cities, RH, pewter hardware, 2001-2005 bags. Limited editions. Reds, greens, purples, some blues, black.

So sellers who know what they’re doing will price them high.

OTOH, I have a slew of Bals priced at $300-500 on my watch lists on several sites that have not sold for months…because there are not a lot of buyers for pink GGH hobos, or GH Days, or RGH papyrus works, or GCH voyagers, UNLESS they’re basically NWT.

Works, Briefs, Mid-Days, Pompons, Folders…they sell SLOW and cheap unless they’re exceptional specimens.

You can look at the monthly purchases threads and see what buyers are willing to pay a lot for and those are the pieces listed at high prices.

For example…had to mark the dark blue GCH Day I had listed to 143.00 for it to sell…and it is nice enough for someone to have posted it on the Finds thread. I have a Brief that’s been listed for a month on three sites for less than $200. It’s beautiful, and I’ve had one offer. For $100.

omg i posted this like twice and it kept getting deleted understandably.

So i tried to buy the former bag (2008 sapphire city) for $230, and received the latter (2011 cyclamen first) on a mix up from the seller. They say I can keep it or return it or trade it with the correct bag.

Thing is I bought the bag specifically for fitting my laptop and school and work stuff, regardless of condition. Can't do that with a first, so I'll never use it, and would only keep it to sell it.

I'm in a time limited (due to return window) conundrum and would like some thoughts about:
1) How much comparative greater selling value is the latter than the former?
2) What exact range would you say the Cyclamen sells for at this condition?
3) What would you do lol

At first I wanted to just trade it in but now I'm wondering if that's a ridiculous decision at the price that I got it for, and that I should consider it a happy mistake. Especially if I can net a few hundred off the cycalmen and put that into buying a city in better condition. I see it selling for a lot from consignment professional sites but from vestair etc honestly not that many have sold and their prices are very varying from like 300-800. 300 isn't worth it taking into account fees.

I’m allergic to flats. I’m short enough as it is.
…..
I have to stop buying bags. This is crazy.
I’m playing TRR Roulette again. This time, I’m hopeful that what I thought I spotted is correct. She was in and out of my checkout bag for quite a while, until I panicked when I thought someone else grabbed her. Then, she reappeared, so I pulled the trigger. We will see when she gets here.
To be continued.

OMG! Considering that this is supposed to be a 2008 Sapphire City, I would definitely say the bag gods manipulated things. Keep that raspberry beauty, or sell her to someone who wants her. Or do the return and get your money back.
But please try and find something better, unless it’s worth the money to repair.

I see some mini City bags showing up in the Bal Finds thread. I purchased a mini from CeeJay's collection, clipped it to one of my City bags, and have had the mini unclip itself twice now. So, I've stopped using it. I'm wondering if the trigger clip is susceptible to unclipping in general, or is mine unusually loose? Or, should I not try to use the clip, and use the keyring as an attachment instead? (Photo is from the web.)

I agree with @Rose100 100%, and will ask, what size is your laptop? I have never tried to fit a laptop in my cities but unless your laptop is very small, I am not sure how it would fit, at least not comfortably without a lot of maneuvering or stretching.
