Call me crazy but I absolutely adore my new Balmain Handbag!
I searched on tpf to see if anybody else had a Balmain bag, and it seems that there is not a lot of love for Balmain handbags, especially this one.
I normally carry Chanel bags and I even returned the Chanel Red Caviar Leather Jumbo Flap from 2009 because I just didn't like "flap" bags. That is, I didn't like flap bags, until I saw this one.
Last year I had seen a red leather Balmain jacket, with similar safety pin styling in Vogue. That jacket was so unique but it had an unrealistic price tag of $25,000.
When I saw a corner of this bag, peeking out from the shelves at NM Last Call, I almost fainted. I said to myself: "That can't be a Balmain?" But it was, and there was no question that it would become mine!
So, love it or hate it, I think this is one of the most unique bags I have ever seen and every time I wear it, people stop me to make comments about it. Fashionista's mouths fall open and they almost faint when they see that it is a Balmain, but for the most part people love the bag but have never heard of Balmain and then there are those who think I "made" the bag myself!
I probably would have paid retail for this bag but I didn't have to because I got it for 70% off retail price! I LOVE to find bargains like that!

it's a lovely colour and I am pretty sure the leather feels fabulous plus it's more wearable (and less expensive) than the jacket you loved but was too expensive so go for it
