Hi. Need some opinions on these two bags. Different styles and shapes, but quite similar in size and would say both bags are good for everyday use. The prices are also similar.

The Boston dimensions are 20*14*10 cm and the Ava is 24*17*9 cm, so I will say they are similar yet different. I do think the Boston will hold the same amount of stuff as the Ava due to the shape of it.

I'm looking for a classic everyday bag that can hold my essentials + for example a small bottle, an umbrella or a pair of sunnies. Want a practical, yet versatile and elegant bag that will stand the test of time both when it comes to quality and trend. Need a bag that can be worn both to work and for dinner with friends.

My thoughts are that the Ava is trendy, yet classic and elegant. It will maybe be a less practical bag as I sometimes need to have both hands free. This problem can be solved by adding a crossbody strap, but don't really like the look of that. Also think it will hold a bit less than the Boston.

The Boston has a more classic look and is very effortless and timeless. It is very similar to the LV speedy 20, which is an all time classic. This will most certainly don't go out of style.
My consern about the boston is the shape - will it be too "clumpy" and get in the way? Does it look a bit old compared to the young Ava? Will the top handles make it hard to get in and out of?
My gut tells me that I will get the most use out of the Boston and that the Boston will be the most sensible choice although the Ava maybe appeals to me more when it comes to aesthetics.

Which one would you go for?

I'm a bit biased because I don't like the moon-shaped bags (is that what this style is called?), but I love boston bags. So my choice between those two options would be the Boston. I think it would hold more stuff due to its more well thought-out shape - it's just easier to move things around inside when you have a flat bottom and flat sides. And I agree that it's a true classic, the shape will never go out of style, not really.

I have the Boston in the mini size and I love it as an errand bag or an amusement park bag, travel etc. (I've even carried smal water bottles in it) However, personally, I feel that the small size would be too bulky against my frame and stick out too much.

I find shoulder bags to be hands free enough and I've been favoring my shoulder bags (Celine triomphe and Prada re-edition w/o crossbody strap) over all of my other bags in the past couple of years. They feel secure under my arm and don't have the chance of swinging to the side where it could hit something or get pickpocketed like a crossbody bag.

Therefore, between the two I'd go for the Ava. However, both are very classic and will not date, it's really a matter of personal preference.

Time for an update on my decision.
Finally pulled the trigger this afternoon, and went for the Boston.
Got to try on the Ava, and either the shape or the overall look of it did it for me.
Unfortunately I have not been able to see the Boston live but now I have a good idea on how the canvas looks, and really think that the Boston will be a great bag. Only concern is if it feels bulky on my body.
