Hello all,

Recently I received a $50 gift card from TB and right now their Thanksgiving sale is still in the works. However I am so torn at what to get!

I have two things in mind: The robinson double zip tote in black or the robinson middy satchel in black. If I did the calculations correctly:

Robinson double zip tote:
$575 x 0.25(25% off $500+ purchases) = 143.75
$575 - 143.75 = 431.25
$431.25 - 50(gift card) = $381
$381 +tax= ~$407 TOTAL

Robinson Middy Satchel:
$495 x 0.20(20% off $300+ purchases) = 99
$495 - 99 = 396
$396 - 50(gift card) = $346
$346 +tax= ~368 TOTAL


Two of them are so close thanks to the event that's happening now! However I did some extensive research and I know that there have been problems in quality over the zip totes, and barely any for the satchel. However according to statistics it doesn't really cover the whole consumer data since very little post here online and tPF :(. Since we can all assume that the zip tote has been more popular than the satchel, all kind of balances, and that balance is that we know nothing for sure! :(

What are your thoughts on this? I really would like to know. I am a college student right now and this is a gift to my mom! Someday I will get her a Prada (and myself too!) But that is waaaayyyy later!

One last thing, if any of you received a gift card from TB, are you going to use it? If not, PM me and I will make use of it? :blushing:

Ha yes I'm a fan!! I have the luggage and am waiting for the purple in the mail. I also have the black patent satchel which I justify by claiming that it is different in style?, whoops...

I had your exact same thoughts and voiced them to the SA at the tore and she said outlet and department store and TB stores are different. She was aware of the issues but not with store bags. After viewing both I had to go with the Robinson double zip. It was truly gorgeous. It was a bit large for me but with the side snaps its perfect. Let me know what you decide. How did you get the $50 coupon might I ask?

Ahh really? So quality differences arises from TB vs TB outlets? If it was a bag I always would want to buy from the actual store. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a dilemma though!

In the end I caved in and got the Robinson Double Zip Tote in Wildberry! I thought that if I am going to have steep discounts, might as well buy the most sought after bag! That's my logic hahaha. It's beautiful! However I have problems with it already (but just the strap!). I'll post about it soon...

I got the TB gift card from TB itself. It was sent through email. I think it depends on how much $$$ you spent on them that year... For me, around $500 before this purse, so I assume $500=$50 and so on... Don't hold me accountable for it, though! I'm just as unsure as everyone else when it comes to it!
