Question for all the diamond experts out there...

I currently have a diamond tennis bracelet with the following specs:

7.03 tcw, round stones 0.185ct, 3.7 mm, FG SI-1, plat setting

considering upgrade to:

11.55 tcw, round stones 0.35ct, 4.5mm, FG SI-1, plat setting

I am wondering with the stones increasing by 0.8 mm is that visually worth 13K (plus my TB), or should I hold out until I can afford the Big Daddy TB that has .5cts stones?

What I mean by "visually worth it" is am I going to a significant difference in size?

THANKS!!!

I would hold out until you can afford the .5 stones. it seems like this is your goal eventually anyways. 7cts is a gorgeous size and will tie you over until you can afford your HG :D

I would wait until you can get the one you want. I have wanted a tennis bracelet for a lil while and hubby wanted to start looking. I told him what I wanted and that I was fine waiting a bit to get the one I want (0.5ct each stone was also one of my "wants").

Enjoy the one you have until you can get the one you ultimately want :)

how big is your wrist? If you have an average wrist of 6.5 inch, a TB with 0.35ct (4.5mm) stones will look great and enough sparkle for everyday use, unless you want something with extra blings ^_^ I have tiny wrist of 6 inch and a TB with 0.25ct each (4mm) looks just right on proportion.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm leaning towards waiting for the "big one";)

Chung: My wrist is tiny- 5.25" maybe the .5cts will look to big?

Wow - your wrist is tiny like mine :). 0.5 cts will definitely look very big, but if it goes with your lifestyle, definitely wait for that one (depending on the price difference)

A thread after my own heart!
I upgraded 3 times till I found the perfect (for me) size.
7ct, 10ct and finally 14ct. I believe my stones are .38ct each. I like this size because I wear it with my watch. A .5ct stone TB would be a statement piece and probably worn alone.
Also...your wrist is tiny, I would be tempted to have a custom TB made. Unless a jeweler would make a price adjustment, due to sizing, why pay for more diamonds then you need especially a .5ct. size. A standard size TB would be too big for your tiny wrist.
Keep us posted...what a lovely dilemma!!!
