I have loved catching up on the recent posts! I honestly think the last time I checked in, I actually missed a page or two! There are so many beautiful new pictures!

I was in Highlands, NC this past week and there is a great boutique there named Acorns, and they carry Temple St. Clair and Elizabeth Locke (and many beautiful home decor items). I went in for my usual visit and they just happened to be having a 20% off sale on everything in the store! So needless to say, you know exactly where I spent 99% of my time there!

Two wonderful ladies helped me that day and the following day as I deliberated about what I wanted. After I made my purchase, the salesperson/manager asked me if she could give me a gift! Obviously I said yes! She said she'd need to grab a larger bag. Then she reached under the counter and brought out the beautiful TSC art book, The Golden Menagerie!!! I told her I had been watching ebay for that book and was thrilled to have it! I guess she really could tell how much I love TSC considering the amount of time I spent admiring all the pieces!

I've wanted one of the angel (cherub) pendants since it is one of her signature pieces, and I bought the large 21mm one with the three little diamond bezels at the bottom. I tried it on with the large ball chain and it was so pretty! But I think I'll just pick up a generic 18" 18k gold ball chain since that's really not a TSC original design. They also had new packaging that appears to match the beautiful blue of her new boutique!
(I am saving these for Christmas, so you're getting a sneak peek!)

Then I also saw the new charm bracelet which has much heavier links than the other TSC chain bracelets I had seen before. I do not plan on adding charms to this bracelet because I think it is fine as it is, but it does have the little TSC charm on it like the pendant chains do.

I saw in previous posts that people mentioned the higher prices, and they are significantly higher than when I bought some of my earlier pieces. I think my Tree of Life locket was either $8500 or $9500 at the time, and it (and the dragonfly locket) is now $12,000! The bracelet I just bought had a tag on it for $5900. When I got back to the house, I was looking up chains or something on the TSC site and realized the bracelet I just bought is actually now $6900! So I unknowingly got an extra discount!

DS2006!! So nice to see you, you've been missed!

Thanks so much for sharing your fun shopping trip and beautiful purchases with us. :flowers: You seem to find such lovely shops to buy TSC! I meant to say how much I appreciated that you told us about Croghan's, previously. I love that they often take their own pics of pieces to post on their site. And many times with a few TSC pieces together, so helpful!

I love what you bought! So happy you found an angel. I remembered you wanted one. It will look beautiful on a large ball chain. And, the charm bracelet is lovely and substantial. The little temple charm is so cute! I'd considered buying that bracelet, too. But, I already have a similar one (with more elongated ovals) from Tiffany, so really cannot justify having another. Oh, and the new light blue packaging is so pretty.

I look forward to seeing some modelling pics of you new pieces after xmas. You're such a good girl for putting them both away until then!

Wow, so generous and kind of them to give you that gorgeous book! So exciting. Are you enjoying poring over all the pics? Do I need one? :graucho:

Thanks! I can't believe I missed some posts!

You know, I was thinking how fortunate I am to have Croghan's and Acorns in places we usually go each year. It actually adds special memories to the purchases I have made at each one (as compared with Bloomingdale's, for example)!

I deliberated on the bracelet. They didn't have many in stock. The bangles are gorgeous and quite a bit more expensive. I felt like this bracelet is substantial enough to wear alone if I want, and I think it coordinates well with most of her pieces. That's great that you already have a Tiffany one!

The book has an introduction and other text from TSC (haven't had time to read it yet), and it includes a lot of art and quotes from literature that compliment her jewels. It is a very beautiful art book, and it was quite a surprise to be offered it. I noticed that it is signed by Temple. I still love her first book the most, because it tells so much of the history of her life and jewelry business and includes iconic pieces such as the amulets that people can actually access. But I admire this book as the ultimate exhibition of her life's work. It's quite large, and one has to find a place to keep it since it won't exactly fit on the typical bookshelf!

I kind of didn't need to know that@:biggrin: I live within easy driving distance of Highlands and it looks like a trip that I usually take in the Spring with friends won't make next year so I could make a Highlands weekend instead. It would be a nice change for me!

I haven't been in a long while, where do you stay when you go?

My husband's family has had a small cottage there for years, so that is where we normally stay. But there's a cute casual inn named the Outpost Inn which is good for a trip of a couple of days and it is close to Main Street and reasonably priced. I usually check Trip Advisor to see what's available if we need extra rooms. The manager at Acorns said they'd have a sale for Black Friday and the following day, as well!
