Tell me the truth - does your Chanel Boy strap catch your hair?

Hi all - Boy bags are FINALLY starting to go down in price. I dont care what people say, I love the bag, and it fits my style perfectly. Having said that I have fine hair and have browsed the forums and have seen a few mentions of the Boy bag catching peoples hair in the strap. If you own it in any size would love to know - does it catch your hair, or is your hair save from being pulled out from the strap?

It has only happened once or twice. It would take a punch in the kidney for me to part with my Boy, a hair pull once in a blue moon is no problem for me

I saw Sophie Shohet's video on that and found it surprising because it's never happened to me before. That said I do have thick/coarse hair and I think you raise a good point about hair texture potentially contributing to the issue.

My hair doesn‘t go to my shoulder, so it‘s not an issue. But if it was I would try to fix it by wrapping yarn in the colour of the bag around those buttons a couple of times. Or pull one of those transparent rubber rings, that kids use for their braces, over each. I believe those could be easy and invisible solitions.

I've never had that problem...but maybe because I never wear my jumbo crossbody?

Yes, because I mainly wore it crossbody. I ended up selling it because I couldn’t take it anymore.

I’ve never heard of it happening recently. My friends and I have the boy bag (purchased 2017-2019) and it’s never happened to any of us and I wear mine crossbody most of the time. I have very fine long hair and it’s never caught once.

Yes. I always wear it crossbody and have fine, waist length hair and it catches all the time. As someone else mentioned...I don't care. I love the boy.

Lmao same as everyone else…my hair catches but I don’t care

It happened more when I wore it crossbody. Doubling it up under the shoulder didn’t give me any hair issues.

(I will say though, ever since Covid my hair has been up more than down so it’s even less of a problem.)

I’ve never had this issue and I have long hair...but I do wear the leather bit on my shoulder every time so maybe that’s why? Or if it did ever get caught I never noticed…

my hair has gotten caught in the door while driving and THAT I did notice

Yes, it does and it's probably the reason why I don't wear it as much as I should. I still love the aesthetics of the bag but the hair thing is annoying to me.

I don't recall my hair ever getting caught by the strap, but if it has happened I didn't notice or wouldn't care.

Never happened to me either and I would wear it cross body or just on the shoulder. That said, my hair is medium length and not crazy long...
