Yeah, the in-office procedure is W A Y too strong for a lot of people. The best thing to do is to have him make you some trays. Then you can whiten them at home whenever you like w/o making your teeth so sensitive but much safer and more effective than the store bought products.
I use my whitening trays about 2x a year and people comment on my white teeth all the time
Hopefully that didn't sound snotty, they just happen to be one of my better features.
Also, use Sensodyne toothpast and let it sit on your teeth for a few minutes, it makes a WORLD of difference!
I have a tray that was made for me years ago. As I recall I didn't get dramatic results from it but now I've noticed my bottom front teeth are looking bad and I'd like to try again. Do you get your whitening stuff from the dentist or online? Mine was Rembrandt. I saw this site. not sure how safe it would be to buy from them?Exactly what I do. Actually the first time I did it was Christmas time this year. I got the trays made (they fit your mouth for the trays) and then you do the trays when you would like. I did not like it at night so I would do it while I watched TV before bed. What you need to do is not leave them in for hours, rather just an hour and then wash it all off. This way your teeth won't get extra sensitive. I am a huge fan of this procedure! It has done wodners for my nice white smile!
It definitely works but for some reason works better for some people than others. Also some people leave it on longer and do more often. I knew a couple of people years ago who had very white teeth from using the whitening trays.I have always feels sceptical about teeth whitening.
My teeth are yellow but i do go to dentist often to clear the plague and do some tooth cleaning that normally just last for a few months before it get yellow again lol.
I had a boss who was a high level exec but not really into fashion or beauty and was older. She had discolored teeth and it was very noticeable, so I try to not get that way. Even your lower teeth, which may not be noticeable when you smile can be seen when you talkTooth whitening is just a societal norm though... teeth are naturally drawn towards being more yellowish (source: my brother's a dentist). It has just been a marketing ploy for the past few years to create an entire industry on having those perfect "pearly whites"
I too have a family member in the dental field. They are always having to talk patients into going with a darker shade of white as every patient wants them super duper white. I fell for the marketing ploy... I started w/bleaching trays, moved on to composites to see if I liked the look then took the jump to veneers.Tooth whitening is just a societal norm though... teeth are naturally drawn towards being more yellowish (source: my brother's a dentist). Try Snow. I really like their strips because they dissolve in your mouth -- you don't have to pull them out.I have used Crest strips and eventually got the trays from my dentist. I hated the taste of the Crest strips and that is why I ended up getting the trays. I used the trays, until I got to a shade of soft white that I liked, then quit. Not going to lie, I hated using the trays, too. Sometimes my gums would feel "burned" and I had some tooth sensitivity afterwards temporarily. I haven't kept up with it and my poor teeth look pretty yellow now, at least by today's standards. I drink a lot of coffee and tea.
We have a family wedding coming up soon and I will be in some of the pictures, so I need to re-whiten my teeth. Sigh. Dreading it. DREADING it!
