Teeny tiny crossbody - Roseau Essential vs Pliage Cuir

May I ask which is the other cuir bag that you are considering? So that perhaps we can share our user experience with what we own?

I did try on the Roseau Essential pouch that you are deliberating on. I like the leather, pliable and yet sturdy + durable. I was tempted with it but did not get it as it was a little short in terms of height and after slotting my essentials in (Samsung phone, tissues, key pouch and card wallet), it was a little snug. I guess it depends on what you intend to carry in it? I have bags in this line and I recommend the leather. Very fuss free and wears well. It also looks slightly dressier than the cuir line (if you are comparing against the cuir crossbody). Mine is in sienna.

Thank you frenziedhandbag - that’s very useful info. Your Sienna is lovely and that’s the contender.. it’s really just a little thing for dog walking that I’m after so it will only need to hold phone, key, treats and possibly a compact wallet or card for an emergency coffee.
I think the Roseau would hold all that quite easily but I might prefer the more casual vibe of the Pliage. Should’ve bought the colour that was on sale after Christmas!

I see. You will be surprised with the capacity of the cuir crossbody (the contender). I can even fit a small umbrella. If you are able to visit the boutique again, I do suggest that you try on both bags and the things you intend to fit. The cuir crossbody is larger and more pliable than the Roseau pouch so it might fit what you intend to carry more comfortably. If you are in the US or UK, you might want to try calling the outlets to see what stock they have on hand. Maybe they have a color that you prefer than the current color options.

Not sure if the strap length of the Roseau Essential Pouch is adjustable but for the Cuir Crossbody, you can shorten the strap by tying an extra knot along the length of the strap in the inside of the bag :D And another neat feature of the Cuir Crossbody Cuir is there is a slip pocket underneath the front flap. The opening for the bag is quite wide and is at the back so it's good for travelling but not sure if that will affect the accessibility of doggy treats.

I have the Cuir Crossbody. I've never considered the Roseau Essential Pouch as I think too many Cuirs came into my life LOL! :D

“Too many Cuirs” lol!
The Roseau has the same knotty strap as the Cuir, also a couple of zipped pockets and card slots so it’s handy in that way. But I still think I’m favouring the Cuir for its yummy soft leather and extra little bit of space. As for the accessibility of doggy treats, it’s probably good for her discipline to have to sit & wait while I unzip..!

The front flap pocket that @SmokieDragon mentioned is so useful as I can fit a LC 6 card slot holder within. I can also fit a key pouch inside that seemingly small front pocket too. Oh, another upside for the cuir crossbody is that even with the back zipper open, nothing falls out of the bag cos it is rather tall in height.

I attach a crossbody strap on the lepliage clutch To walk my dog. It’s perfect for poop bags, phone, treats, keys and small wallet. i also think the new energy pouch is perfect for dog walking as they’re both canvas and take dirt and water well.

Just a non sequitur on LC’s tiny bags ... I love the look of the Mademoiselle pouch but, dang, the strap isn’t removable. As is, it’s a perfect little Pouchette but it could be so much more if it offered flexibility ... like it could become a crossbody, wristlet, clutch. It’s pricey for a single app bag  and Longchamp has spoiled me with its reasonable prices. Since I need a bigger bag in the winter, I’ll wait until the June sale to see if it’s included :)

I love the looks of this bag as well. Not sure if it will be available in my country. The loops look large enough to clip on a long crossbody strap of your choice so that could be an option for you?

For the short strap that is not detachable, looping it under the bag might help. I do that with my XS Mademoiselle so that the short strap does not get in the way.
