Can someone pls advise me.

I got a pair of Reva flats and they are really comfortable.
I took a good look at them and realized that the gathers at the back is what keeps my feet in the shoe. Without the gathers, it would actually be big. Is this normal? A half size smaller would be a little tight.

I had this same conversation with my TB sales associate this morning. The "new" Reva flats don't have the elastic cuz too many people complained about the discomfort it was causing. For me it has never been an issue and works perfectly for compensating for sizing differences. Some gathering is good, it creates comfort
(for some of us) Others hate it cuz it causes pain. Just looking at the TB website I think in the near future all Revas will no longer have the elastic around the heel.

Better to have some "scrunching" than too tight. That's always been my thinking. :smile1:

Good luck

Thanks for the reply.
I do think the scrunching and the fact that the shoe is 'too big' makes it comfortable :smile1:
Not sure if I'm making any sense but that's my experience.
I just hope that the 'scrunch' does not loosen up over time.
Loving the shoe thus far.
I got the black reva with gold emblem. Hoping to get one with the silver emblem soon.

Hi Torybri, I know you are very knowledgable about Tory's shoes and was hoping you can answer a question. Despite buying numerous pairs of Tory's shoes, I am yet to figure out how her sizing works. There just doesn't seem to be any consistency. Have you tried on the new Reva's without the elastic? If yes, would you recommend most people go up a half size still? Would the same going up a half size apply to all her flats, more specifically the Caroline's or the Quinn's? Thank you so much!

OMG the the reva shoes especially in patent are really really painful on the elastic parts at the back of the shoes. The elastic will not get loosen over time.
I cut the inner leather to expose the elastic and I cut the elastic. :green grin:

I personally would much prefer some "scrunching" with a gap in the back than the shoe being tight enough that my heel is flush with the back. In fact, often times I find my foot getting pushed up so far in the front that it's nice to have some extra room to push my foot back! I have two pairs of Reva's, and neither have stretched out to be too big at all.
