Forgive me if this is stupid, I've always gotten my Birkins and Kellys from Canada and US for years. But I noticed the prices for these bags (or bags in general) are significantly less in Paris or Italy from the price thread. Is there taxes added onto those prices that I see?? Oh my ...

If you go to the first post in the 2012 price thread, the tax info is at the top and bottom of the post.

i.e. prices in Europe include tax, purchases in Paris receive a 10% tax refund.

Due to the current exchange rates, the bags are quite a bit less in Euros. Tax is already included in the price, then you get 10% refund upon leaving the country within 3 months if not an EU residence.

OH MY GOD, it almost makes going to Paris to buy worth it even with airfare and accommodation!! The bags are coming out a couple thousand less than US, if not more.

Yes, but you have to find the bags which is not that easy.

I´m in Scandinavia where H prices are approx. 25% higher than the euro zone so it would be less expencive for me too if I could buy my H from countries who have euros. I would never go to Paris just looking for bags because I think the likelyhood of being dissapointed is high in that event.

Hermes prices are lowest in Euro countries. If I'm not mistaken second would be UK with GBP and then US with USD. Highest would be in Japan with JPY.
Each Euro countries have different sales tax, in France it's 10%, it'll be different in Germany and Italy for example. Can be lower, can be higher.

ITA with what Lovely64 said here. Yes it's cheaper in Euro countries, but doesn't guarantee you will get a B or K there.

Yes, you are right in a sense except you forgot to account the customs duty and tax charge upon arrival to Canada. It might be the same after all, plus you might not get the bag you want.

I agree with lovely64, it's great to check out the bag availability while you travel, but not sure if it's worth while to go to an european country just to buy a bag...although it's very tempting with the great exchange rate, believe me, it crossed my mind many time! :p

Also, my friend told me that her friend came home (Canada) from Vegas with a garden party without declaring, was fined $2k, so it ended up costing her about $5k for a GP, absolutely terrible.
