hi guys

i emailed Lv regarding tarnishing on the bag hardwares.. i complained so they would do something about it, I love Lv i've been collecting them for a couple of years now but when i see the tarnishing on the hardware i really get disappointed, it is expensive after all. write to them if you have the same problems they might hear us if there are a lot of us complaining :sad2:

Good for you kaka. Perhaps, they can do a recall and replace those tarnished hardware :nuts: . I highly doubt it though.

They should definitely do something about the hardware.

Kaka, keep us updated on LVs response. I've only had 1 problem with tarnishing hardware, and it was on the zipper pull of a Cerises pochette cles. It was never exposed to water or harsh elements that would have made it tarnish prematurely, but nevertheless, there was a bit of tarnish after just 8 months of owning it. I sold the Cles on ebay a few months ago when I was downsizing my collection, but still, it saddens me to think that such a high quality item would have that kind of defect.

I've had the monogram cles key chain for 3 years and the hardware is all tarnished. I showed it to them at my local LV store and they said they cant do anything about it. THey did say if it was "broken" they would replace it. One Sales assistant even went as far as to tell me to break it so I can get it replaced. But, I wont do that because, what if they dont replace it. I think they act like they stand behind their product...but when theres a problem. its a different story....they remind you of the two week return policy they have. But the good news its, it really is a good product and they do hold up really good, especially if you take care of it.

Did you bring this to your SA's attention? Usually they're very accomodating :) I got some free locks/keys when I simply mentioned about the ones on my Mini HL tarnishing. I haven't had any problems with the hardware on my bags though. Hopefully they can do something for you! :D

Just went to ask the SA in the LV store. You can have the zipper pull replaced or the whole zipper replaced. The pull cost about $25 CAD and the whole zipper is about $55 CAD. It was around there, I forgot the exact number. To replace the handles I think she said $80 each.... not sure.

It's very different from piece to piece IMO (which makes me think they are producing too much at to little time.. ) My KEEPALL is holding up perfectly, so is most of my pieces, but some studs on the antigua.. is already getting small scratches /flaked after only four months, not been using it a lot.
