Hey guys! Long time no postie
But I actually have acquired a new bag that I adore. It's the small sized shoulder/crossbody bag called 'Mixed Messages' in the dark brown Espresso color.
First off, some photos! All were taken in my room, in natural light. The 2nd phot is a bit dark but that's how it sits on me crossbody with plenty of length to spare for adjustment.
For reference I am 5'5, US 18/20.
Pros?
-It fits all my stuff AND more. The main storage pocket opens wide and is easy to get into. Three standard pocket set up in the interior: two slip, one zip. The slip pockets I do not use for my phone but they do accommodate up to an iPhone 6.
-What I can fit in the bag: my medium sized wallet, checkbook, makeup pouch, full set of keys, phone, small miscellany (tissues, lip balm, gum, advil bottle, pens) with plenty of room and pockets to spare.
-Exterior pockets are aplenty in THREE different sizes! The biggest sits and opens up along the entire length of the front of the bag; this is where I put my phone too. It's deep and spacious. The other two are smaller but can fit the tinier things you may want to grab for (lip stick, gum, tissues, etc.).
-The leather is so smooshy, soft and lovely. It is Tano's Italian 'washed leather' and so far over the half month or so I've had it it has held up well after every day use.
-The lining is dark and made of fabric. The new 'Tano' label is there, embossed in leather that surroundings the zipper pocket. It does not say 'made in Italy' like some of the leather labels have in other bag styles made from this same leather, and there is no fabric tag in the lining saying otherwise.
- The crossbody strap is so lengthy! I love it! It is double sided stitched leather. I want to say you can adjust to a total of 25"/26" horizontal length which is just in heard of most days for crossbody designer bags to be so long. S'why I love Tano crossbodies!
- The zippers do not catch, although they are sharp! These are pretty heavy duty zippers but they are much easier to work with than the ones I got on my Closet Diva (which I also ended up not keeping in the end).
Cons?
-Again no dust bags. Granted I did not get this back from Must Have Bag, instead it came from Nordstrom Rack...but even so they usually keep the dust bags with their purses should they come with them.
- The hardware is very stiff! It is durable and the clasps to the handles are not flimsy though.
-I'm afraid that this leather will fade in time, as it is a washed leather. It has a semi-glazed quality to it however I think, so maybe it will last.
-FYI: I saw a couple dark spots on my bag and, mistaking it for dirt, I tried to clean it. BIG MISTAKE. It started to remove the dye from the leather! Don't bother cleaning this leather, just guard it with some Apple guard if you really want to and leave it at that. Silly me...
Overall I love this bag. It's a perfect small every day for me and fits everything I need!
