Would love some extra opinions... I am looking for a special watch and thought I'd love the classic Tank, thought it looked modern and clean. But I didn't love the proportions in real life, and found it a bit unremarkable on my wrist for some reason! But I've loved it on friends.

I did like the look of the Panthere though.... Attaching pictures of my stack. I thought it might be too fussy or old fashioned but actually I think it suits me better... any other thoughts or suggestions on watch styles? (Also doesn't have to be Cartier... Haven't explored other brands yet) .

Thank you !

I wouldn't second guess yourself, go for the Panthere. We all suit different things, and it does look cleaner and more contemporary on you.

But if you simply want another brand suggestion comparison for this type of watch, the patek Philippe 24 in all gold might rest comfortably stylistically on your wrist. It is more in line with the tank’s style, and significantly more expensive; however I believe the 24 holds its value reasonably well. Looking at the PP may simply make you feel better about your panthere choice :) A different direction might be the JLC reverso but it’s more tank like. Or, the Verdura curb link watch which does come in a rectangular format; however, Verdura is more a jewelry brand than a watch brand. You could google Gerald genta, who designed many famous watches. I believe he designed a rectangular watch, but I cannot remember right now :)

Of course, Cartier has multiple watch styles that could suit besides these two, for example the cartier tank americaine; santos; and models like the tortue, ruban, ballon Bleu etc. The santos (a favorite of mine in a large size) is perhaps closest to the panthere you are considering.

Note: watch style sizes come and go, so that may be another factor

Thanks for taking the time to share all these, that's exactly it, just to compare while I'm looking. My dad also has the multi toned Santos and I love that the multi Panthere reminds me of his. My mom has the Tank and it looks gorgeous on her, diamonds and white gold. Does anyone know if the proportions of the Tank have changed over the years? It seems a little squarer in the face than what I remember of my mother's.

Thanks for sharing! Both look lovely on you. Were you trying the medium tank? The medium is square and the small is rectangular.

I had the exact same dilemma as you last month.

I have photos for comparison if you're interested:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/cartier-watch-photo-comparisons-panthere-and-tanks.1057434/

My husband decided to semi-surprise me with either a VCA 10 motif or a watch of my choice.

I was so sure that I was going to go for the tank. And when I tried it, I really liked it.
But when I tried on the panthere, I fell in love with it!

Since you're buying Cartier, either would go great with your stack since it's the same luxury house.

I'd say go with what you fall in love with! Which one speaks to you more at the moment?

Which one did you go for? Currently can’t decide between small panthere stainless steel with sunray blue dial and diamonds or the small tank Louis in YG

I ended up going for the medium panthere multi-toned (SS and yellow gold)!

I wear it everyday, and have even fallen asleep with it on lol. It's a very comfortable watch to wear.

The blue dial is very pretty. It was something I considered seriously as well and my husband also liked it. The only reason why I didn't choose it, is because I prefer watch faces with the numbers. But that blue dial is so beautiful, I may make an exception and get a blue dial in the future even if it doesn't have numbers haha. :P

Hi! It’s the small
Thanks so much! I didn't think the proportions of this suited me and thought it was the medium, but knowing it's the small I think the Panthere seems better proportioned to me. I also looked at the small stainless steel diamond Panthere. Gorgeous, but I think the multi is more versatile.

I think both suit you but the panthere looks the best! Having a difficult time myself deciding between the panthere and tank Louis
