Tan bag for a corporate job?

Hi all :)

I'm starting a new corporate job soon. The dress code isn't super strict, they focus on best and tidy dress. Most of my clothing is black however I'm lusting after a tan Mulberry Bayswater.

My question is, has anyone or is it appropriate to have a mainly black ensemble and carry a tan bag in a corporate environment?

Why wouldn't it be? Just make sure you have something in your outfit that echoes the same color. It could be something as simple as lipstick, eye shadow, a piece of jewelry, small scarf...just something to tie your outfit together.

Absolutely. Buy what you like!
I work in consultancy and I carry all sorts of colours with business attire.
Tan is very neutral in any case, and works well with black outfits.

Yes it’s fine. Sometimes I think it can look even better than black. Say an all black outfit and a tan bag. Or match shoes with it but you don’t have to. Not the same but I’ve seen all black suits with a camel color coat. Looks sharp.

Congrats on your new job! Here is my feedback on your situation: it depends on the corporate job. If you come into work in the morning, and put your handbag away until you leave, then wear any colour you like. If you’ll be spending a lot of time out of the office interfacing with clients, go with a darker colour like dark gray or black, or play with texture to relieve the look of too much black. When interfacing with clients, I prefer that they concentrate on what I’m saying rather than on my wardrobe. A tan bag would provide too much contrast with a black outfit in my opinion. Good luck!

Big Congrats on your new job & best luck for much success & happiness!:drinks: I think a tan/camel color bag is absolutely appropriate & beautiful in any environment (but that’s just me; I’m a diehard neutral bag lover & anything in the tan/camel/nude range floats my boat!) And as far as Mulb Bayswater-hell yeah!! I have one in “mole grey” & adore it!:girlsigh:
