I made a post asking about this bracelet vs the guilloche/pave alternating, because I want something to match my YG Vintage Alhambra pave pendant. I’ve been heavily leaning towards the all pave, because it would be more carefree, scratch resistant, and lighter weight. However, the alternating is half the price and could be seen as less flashy because it has only two diamond motifs. I know that the pave tends to flip over, but I feel like I love it enough to not let that part bother me. Do you think it’s worth it for the price? Is there another piece that might be better long-term? I really want a bracelet I can wear casually and in a carefree way. And does it look strange to be “matchy-matchy” with daily pieces? I think the concept is cute, but I’m also a bit worried that it might look like too much for everyday. I’ve also been told a couple of times that people feel the 5 motif bracelet is a bit “overdone”. I think the design is beautiful, but I also want to make sure I’m not purchasing a piece that I’ll want to stop wearing anytime soon. Honestly, I just want to make sure that I’ll use and love it a lot for a long time. I’ve been considering it for months, but I want to be 1,000% sure. To see the bracelets on my wrist (trying on in-boutique), please view my previous post!

Trust yourself. You know yourself the best. If you know you won’t be bothered by the flipping and you love that it’s maintenance-free, then go for it. Also, are the type of person that cares that “other” people say things are “overdone”? I assume that they mean that it’s everywhere and too mainstream. If you are the type that does care and will let what other people think about you bother you then don’t get it. If live for yourself, then go for it. But maybe the fact that you’re asking whether your decision should be affected by other people’s opinions says something too. With regard to being matchy-matchy, that is an individual preference. Do what you like. IMHO, two matching pieces is not much. In the end, only what you think matters. You’re the one looking at it and feeling it on your body everyday.

That’s a good idea! I didn’t know I could do that. I hope this works —

Personally, I find thart 5-motif bracelets a pain in the neck (or lower) to get on and off. I an only do so by flipping a link when putting on. That’s why I won’t buy a diamond vintage Alhambra bracelet. Every other version doesn’t matter whether a motif is flipped or not because they are the same on both sides. I would get one of the Perlee Diamond bracelets (clover, single, or three row) rather than the 5 motif.

I am currently debating whether the single row Diamond or three row makes sense.

That’s a really good point about flipping when putting on the bracelet. I don’t have a terribly hard time getting my MOP 5 motif on, but I never noticed the flipping because it’s the same on both sides. For me personally, the perlee clover is way too bulky and I used to be considering the sweet perlee clover, until I realized that I think I prefer bracelets over bangles. Do you think that I would have less of a problem with the guilloche/pave alternating bracelet?

Good point on how you need to put it on in a certain orientation. I need to do that with my pave sweet 6 motif. I am able to do it on my own but it takes me a minute. However, I don’t take my bracelet off every day. And when it flips as I wear it I don’t usually do anything about it.

I think you would have the same issue. If you have a chance to try on the bracelet IRL, you can see if you need to twist the orientation of the clasp in order to close the bracelet. Then you can see whether it flips.

Also, a word of advice. Buy what you want — things that thrill you. The alternating links may be half the price, but if you look at the bracelet and believe you compromised, you just made an expensive mistake.

It’s better to buy less, but buy exactly what you want. Or not buy the item at all. This is a mantra I still say to myself all the time.

It took me many expensive mistakes to learn this lesson, and I still struggle sometimes.

When I put on my sweet pave I hold it up and let it hang naturally by itself. It will orient such that all the motifs face one direction, meaning the diamond side faces one direction. Then I put it on either all facing up or all facing down and then flip all the motifs. I think when VCA makes this bracelet, they do make all the diamond motifs face one direction with regard to how the orient the links when they build the bracelet. I hope I’m making sense.

I also love my single row bangle but it’s not as comfortable to wear without taking off daily, for me. I know people who can wear bangles 24/7. I’m just not one of those people, so I would also opt for a soft bracelet for those purposes.

Me too… I have had an issue of buying things then exchanging or selling them because I wasn’t 100% satisfied. I did the same with the Perlee Pearls D’or bracelet, out of impatience I got the medium size and thought it was fine until it started getting hot outside and now it doesn’t move on my arm

I have the all pave in wg. I just got it about a month ago actually. I am just here to say get it. There is nothing bad to say. Even the flipping (which is greatly reduced if you have it sized appropriately) does not bother me. It's a total yes from me!

Should I size it tight so it doesn't flip? I'm 14cm so should I size it to 15cm?

The closer (but not skin tight) you get it sized, the less possibility of flipping. I have enough room to stick my ring and baby fingers between the chain and my wrist. It is not skin tight but definately a closer fit with just a little bit of slack. Just be aware: the shorter it is, the harder it is to put it on alone. I either bug my husband to help or use a bracelet gadget I bought from amazon that helps hold it while you clip. In a pinch Ive even used a paper clip  . You could take 6 links out and still have room (or go even smaller). There is also going to be a balance of not wanting it to flip often vs. your degree of comfort. Have you taken it to your SA, you can try the sizers on and that should help you too.

This thread below is very helpful too.

I'm reaching the (obvious) conclusion that VCA is not really worth the price on a pure "bling for your buck" perspective. Talking about diamond pieces in particular, if you look at the carat per $ you'd be much better off getting for example a tennis bracelet or diamond bangle - even from a premium brand, or non-branded but with top-graded stones (or even lab grown for worry-free daily wear?).

If you however love the design, and have the lifestyle that justifies or allows wearing it daily (based on your post you mentioned you plan to wear it on a daily basis), then absolutely go for it! such a piece does not deserve to stay stored away in its box and see the light of day just for special occassions.
